Niobe Labs puzzle is dumb.
Sooooooo does anyone else find this Niobe labs puzzle thing kinda dumb? Why does bungie think we want to watch streamers figure out a puzzle?

41 RepliesGood lord. I remember we had puzzles in our games. I grew up in the age where internet was just coming out. Lufia puzzles. Legend of Zelda puzzles. Hell, bosses in donkey Kong. Where all the secrets we're in donkey Kong. Alundra. We had to figure out things to go forward in the game. Look at this now. 2 decades later and man has there been a crazy mindset shift. Y'all. Are. Lazy, and some of the most entitled gamers I've ever seen. Figure it out. Work together and figure it out. Stop throwing tantrums. Stop running away and get all pissy because you can't figure it out. Stop whining. Stop calling bungie the devil because you can't figure it out. It's a puzzle. Work at it. Unbelievable. The type of lot that I see in here. Unbelievable.

Yeap, seems like the game never changed and it just went back to its same old ways, glad I never bought the season pass, hell I didn’t even had it on me to finish the Forsaken story since I saw what followed was endless and pointless grind, and in the end it seems the suspicions of what really happened at the summit came true. I think I’m done with Destiny 2, I’ll just wait for Destiny 3, it’s just 18 months away.

So they basically keep it more of a secret and only tell everyone about it on social media and not through the actual game we’re playing, then direct you to a stream to watch streamers complete it. Ok bungie. When you’ve quite finished your circle jerk with the streamers, the other 99.9% of the player base would like to play too. K. Thanks.

Having an even worse feeling about the last forge. Since Bungie views naobe labs as new content, there's probably going to be even less new content in the new forge. I don't view naobe as content. To me it is a streamer event and a roadblock to actual new content.

My biggest complaint in addition to this which I agree with is... For just about everything you have to wait until someone guesses what has to be done, and make a post about it. This far in to the game, I'm not doing a lot of planet side exploration as I am already 650 on all characters. I would have never known to shoot dregs or vex for either forge. Why can't there be a little mystery about it, like Ada-1 hinting to some osbcure new area on a planet. Or when the BA launched (like the new spawn in point for BA) maybe have one of the BA crates sitting in weird spot in the tower to get you to walk to it and investigate. I know anytime something new comes along I go to every part of the tower to see if something new has been hidden or changed. The hidden room above the gantry as you turn to head toward Amanda would have been great. Even the new hidden room in the BA spawn in point would have been excellent for that (why there isn't anyhing in there is beyond me). Something as big as a forge would have some hide of lore or sign to point to something.

3 Replies@Bungie This puzzle isn't just dumb, it's lame. I've been playing Destiny since the beginning. I've seen the game evolve, fall down, rise up, re-invent itself, fall down and rise up again. Since Forsaken it's been good. I like playing it. And I do understand that content is time gated. Either by design (set date) or accomplishment (finishing the raid). For the record: I'm no raid player. I simply haven't got the time to 'git gut' with a band of (friendly) strangers. I do like escalation protocol and the forges in which teams are sorta match made. So as with the clearing of the raid in Forsaken I simply had to wait. No problem. It's fun watching streams of raid parties figuring it all out. Still, with this puzzle. I don't feel any connection to 'finishing it'. Just like 99% of all the other players, I'll just have to wait... and wait... It's lame. Bungie, do NOT do this ever again. Make ALL players part of the experience!
