For a month I grinded to hit 600-615, JUST to finish the FIRST forge for the machine gun, and I can never get it done. EVER. No matter my weapons, no matter the high-powered teammates. It’s just not happening. The boss in the end is insanely unfair, especially for people who couldn’t grind for max power. I am a passionate fan of destiny but this is a shame. If this is supposed to be equivalent to a mini raid, why did they make it matchmaking?

A month to gain 15 levels?? How often do you play? I was able to get to 612 within a couple days, and was able to complete the forge with players around the same level. Well of Radiance is the best for the boss if you’re struggling. Sentinel shield barrier is good too. When I was lower I went with Tractor Cannon and everyone else had Telesto and we melted that guy. Strategies will take you a long way.

@ThundaDevil when Black Armory came out, I was 560. For 600-615 I meant in order to get to that range it took a month. I am a hunter, and so far i've been having bad luck with the matchmaking. I am not affiliated with a clan, nor am I fond of LFGs. You can say that's why nothing's working but still, why that hard? At least the first forge should be easily doable.

When the forges dropped, I was only 550. I spent the last two weeks leveling up and attempting the forge every chace I had. I'm now 618 and still stuck on the forge because people in matchmaking are using side arms, SMGs, and grenade launchers because it's their highest light level. I'll try again, but I don't see me beating the first forge anytime soon.

You definitely can at 618! Try to form your own fireteam and be specific on what power levels you’re looking for. At 618, with a decent strategy and decent players, you should get it down!

Damn, that's a shame. Good luck to you, you'll get that forge done soon. It took me quite a few tries when I was ~610 but the amount of powerful gear unlocked after opening up Ada's bounties will really accelerate your progress.

If I were you, I’d slap on well of radiance and tractor cannon. That way you at least know you’re taking care of the damage buffs for you and the randoms. MOST of the time they catch on lol....good luck!

Thanks for the good luck. I beat my first forge. I was with a 616 and 650 duo who knew what to do -- they both had frames unlocked.
