Destiny will be a barren wasteland in 3-4 months. Anthem will be dropping. The division 2 will be dropping. Borderlands 3 will be announced. I can honestly say that I will be picking up anthem at day of release unless their beta shows it's got no legs.
I enjoy grinding but it occured to me that all we do is grind to open up new areas to grind for new weapons to make the grind easier. With bungie bailing on story content for the next year the end game is going to be hollow and bland. There's some minor bs, but this major shift to time gated material for a year holds little interest to me.

Anthem has no pvp so no true competition and The Division 2 has alot to prove after The Division being so divisive and panned. Theyre both gonna be great games, but these arguments are garbage. People are always gonna stick around to play Destiny, because theyre fans of the IP, whether youre intelligent enough to realize that or not. Also, theres huge potential for Anthem to flop given EAs involvement, so id be careful how many eggs you put in that basket.

Well as someone like you probably never played the division, or never went back when it was fixed (I did and played it up to 293 with full sets of all gear). I think it will be in a far better state in Div2 then Destiny was in D2. Anthem from what I have ******* is enjoyable and should be good. When I can actually talk about it, I will. Pesky NDA's. That will be after I played the VIP demo, which I already have my code for. The joys of being a beta and play tester for companies like Bethesda and Ea. As for Destiny always having people, I get you dont understand business or keep up with VG business, but no. Activision is not happy with Destiny and its numbers, was stated recently on numerous sites. If these new annual pass games dont pick up steam and the numbers keep dropping. There wont be a Destiny 3. Activision will pull the plug on it and its funding. So sure, people may be in D2, but lets be honest. The only reason there is people even still here, theres nothing else to play at the moment. When that all changes, Destiny will quickly fade.

Gotta love the fat forum nerds that read someone disagreeing with their view and need to scientifically prove why the other party is wrong even when doing so would mean then predicting the future. Apparently this fat forum nerd has so much insider knowledge he can tell the future of VG media. -blam!-, we should all stop folowing VG news cause apparently this man KNOWS ALL.

Yeah, couldnt also be I still play it. But am not so lost and drunk on bungie kool aid that I can see the game is a disaster at the moment. You go so much duh, I think you need some crayolas there.

Why, because games that are gonna directly compete are coming out? If D2 loses players to those games, you realize that due to the competitive nature of any market, that just means Bungie are gonna have to compete and do even more fan service for D3. Competition from other games literally almost never ruins games, it makes them better. And cool, it loses players to Anthem, those players will likely be bored eventually and move on to something else as thats how EVERYTHING works. But Destiny will always still have a core playerbase who are fans of the franchise.

Ive been here since Alpha 0 hour. The game gets fixed, they f it up. They fix it, they f it up. Fans will only stick around for so long. Then it will be just like destiny 1, no updates, no nothing. Just here. So sure, people will be here till the servers are shut down. But when the majority of the population leaves, they will stop making content and move onto another game. Fanboy on and on to your hearts content. It wont change the fact that you've put in a little less than 200 hours more than me on d2 and ohhhh around 2000 less than me on D1. You've been here a short time compared to me and a lot of others. We've watched this game go from bleh, to good to wtf, to ok, to hell yeah, to wtf were they thinking. To hell yeah, to this is a dlc? So sure. Its ok. You enjoy it and want it to stick around. Sadly when you stand on a soap box and bang on about your numbers long enough. Everyone will copy. Division 2, Anthem and Borderlands 3. BL3 will take a huge chunk of the grinders as gearbox knows how to actually make a good grinding game. So if you like the games thats awesome. Don't get mad at the fans who want it fixed, get mad at the company who broke it.

My only point in this is that the argument of "Destiny dying" is a dumb one. If the game didnt die after D1 vanilla, or after Dark Below, or House of Wolves, or D2 launch, or CURSE OF OSIRIS; then im pretty sure the game isnt going anywhere. But hey, if im wrong, ill be sure to pop back in in 2020 to hang my head, til then, ill def believe it when i see it and laugh that you people come here to complain about a game you pretty much say yourself you dont like.

I dont like the state of the game at all. I do like the game and the world and am currently sitting in my chair flying into the dreaming city. Do I play it non stop like I did in D1? Nope. I think this new annual pass is a joke. It allowed them to barely add anything new and call it DLC. The forges bore me to death. Grind to get the key grind to fill the key grind for the frame. Bungie makes an awesome dlc, their best yet in forsaken and follows it up with this. It's less content then CoO.

I agree i dont like the bland task grinds for forge keys, but i like the idea behind it. Longevitability for content has always been an issue and i like that the season pass seems to be them attempting to answer it in a way they havent tried before. I think it obviously needs work. More unique quests, less tasks and grinds to unlock said quests, but Im willing to give it more of a try than 2 weeks and not loving the forges. Theres still stuff coming too.

I may not play regularly, but I purchased the full package with forsaken and will be around. I hope they let the pendulum swing back and find that right stopping point. The no new explorable, no new content ie strikes, pvp maps, gambit is a big mistake. I get what this is "supposed to be", but think when you just won your fans back with forsaken is a big mistake. Had they added in something more and taken the grind from 11 to 8, it would have been far better. They've made small improvements and fixed some things, but went back in a lot. I enjoy destiny for all the time with friends, raids, strikes, whatever. Its my co op game and the best shooting mechanics around. But their inability to stabilize and being things back up consistently is maddening.

Well, they are very different games from Destiny and I believe people may play them but will play Destiny too. The problem with Destiny has never been the competition (which has none), the problem is Bungie being unable in finding a middleground for this game. They went from a D2 vanilla that was throwing rewards at us just for staying in orbit, to a insanely absurd grind with Forsaken where one can grind hours to basically end almost the same. What they made was turn this game into a unworthy, not fun, time consuming feast. Again, they're not respecting time invested by players. Bottom line, the most dangerous enemy of destiny is Bungie.

When you're done grinding that, grind some other things. Lazy sloppy game making. Instead of writing and making a story, they throw in some code for bounties and grinding.

I am gone and done with destiny the moment Borderlands 3 drops, if it holds up to Borderlands 2 or at least, if its pre-sequel level bad then I guess destiny has me again

Yeah bl2 was awesome and gearbox is doing 3, not 2k Australia. They're the main reason pre was so average. It was a borderlands clone
