This sounds like your hard drive might be dying, do you have an external hard drive connected to your console? If so, try downloading D2 on to the external drive.

I do not have one. I do not have many games and so I have never needed the extra storage. Would make sense the hard drive is dying though, I bought the ps4 when TTK expansion released and havent upgraded it since

Yeah probably best to starting thinking of getting a new hard drive as you don’t want to lose any game progress or have your PS4 shutting down in a middle of a game when the hard drive fails.
