Well that would make sense as the explosions are not fusion rifle kills but secondary explosion kills.

I'd think they should count, you're still scoring kills with Telesto which is a Fusion Rifle. Either way, I'm pointing this out just in case people are confused as to why they aren't getting progress, and also in case Bungie didn't intend it to be this way.
