Master Ives Death and Black Armory Explained

Some time ago, the Reef Cryptarch was murdered by the hands of Kikliss, Murderer. We avenged his death and got the Thunderlord as compensation. I'm here to explain his death and connection to Black Armory DLC What we know: Black Armory DLC features a Vault from 3 different nations that stored blueprints, schematics, prototypes and final products of weapons from Pre-Golden and Golden Age. My thoughts: Master Ives stumbled on the general location to the Vault and the Fallen are looking for it to arm themselves, but they need a cryptarch to translate and find it. So they murdered him, spread his pages to numerous Fallen and led us along, knowing that we will find them, avenge him and eventually find it. That's why Kikliss didn't die like normally (instead of going up in flames, he transmatted himself out). So he might show up.

  • I think you've got that backwards. Its probably that the Fallen have stumbled onto information regarding the existence of the Black Armory (remember Spider speaks very fluent "English"). But they probably don't know enough about Golden Age history and geography to interpret what it is they found. Which is why they grabbed a Cryptarch. Cryptarchs are experts in Golden Age and pre-Golden Age history. They snatched Ives thinking he could properly interpret whatever it was that they found. Ives either didn't know.....or realized what would happen if a hostile Fallen faction got their hands on it, and refused to co-operate. So they killed him. There is a small chance (imo) that Ives found the information first.....and was captured by the Fallen while he was either coming to the City or to the Farm. This would really bad luck on the part of Ives...or having done something REALLY stupid.
