Forsaken isn’t that great. It’s just a complete shift from Y1D2 which was a complete shift from D1Y3. They hemorrhage players each time they shift. Lots of people who leave come back for the new DLC play it for a couple weeks then leave again. I had to get a new clan at the beginning of D2Y1, a new clan after CoO dropped, a new clan after Warmind had been out for a few weeks, and now guess what barley anyone in that clan plays Forsaken. I’m not going to bother with a new clan this time.
I’m not going to bother with the annual pass this time either. I have played over a thousand hours in the last year of D2 and I think the state it is in today isn’t any better or worse than it has been since it’s first day. There are always ups and downs. I like Bungie in general, obviously I’m a fan of the Destiny series. The way it is designed to keep its players logged in for the absolute maximum amount of seconds isn’t fun any more. Getting screwed out of having a meaningful progression because it’s all RNG isn’t fun anymore either.

Yes, Destiny is starting to lose it's charm with it's longest and dedicated players. Maybe reinventing the wheel, changing the formula, or expanding upon it is something they have to do now or in the near future.

Yeah I don’t care about if Activision thinks they make enough money publishing D2, and I really don’t care what Kotaku (Jason doesn’t even play D2 anymore) or Luke Smith think of that. I do care about what players think of the state of the game.
