Dealing with Cheaters - A plea to Bungie (@ Cozmo)

Cozmo, Serious inquiry, no salt, regarding recent discussions of cheating, specifically network manipulation / DOS attacks and how Bungie deals with these individuals. I would like to request a little more info regarding how Bungie goes about dealing with cheaters, as I'm sure most of the community would. Currently it appears that little if anything is done to address this serious issue, and the only responses we get are "canned" stating generally that Bungie deals with it. While it's great to receive acknowledgement, this does little to answer our questions about the prevalence, monitoring process, and frequency of account actions taken by Bungie. I do understand why Bungie would not want to reveal all of the technical details regarding what is monitored and how cheating is identified since that gives cheaters additional insight into how to get around the rules more efficiently. However, answering some of the following questions would go a long way toward satisfying my own curiosity as I'm sure it would others, without giving too much away. 1. How does Bungie go about identifying DOS cheaters? - We don't need the technical details, but from a very common sense perspective it should be very easy to identify habitual offenders via nothing more than reviewing stats of their match history. I would expect that any proactive management of competitive gaming systems would surely include some automated flagging and review to look for players with either a high percentage, or consecutive matches which are won due to abandonment / disconnect of the opposing team. While not always a surefire way to identify a cheater, I would definitely expect a review process by a QA team for individuals with suspect match data. Does any such reporting and review process exist? 2. Which group within Bungie is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and issuing bans based on the above scenario, assuming such QA processes exist? What about player reports via in-game systems? How large is this team? 3. What is the turnaround for reviewing suspect data flagged as possible cheating (DOS specifically)? Same question but for player reports? Are reports of any automatically flagged accounts / matches reviewed within hours, days, weeks, months? 4. How many bans are being issued for cheating (DOS Specifically)? Again, how many weekly, monthly, etc.? It's great to say you're constantly taking action, but remember that the community has access to match data for any individual player. It's just hard to believe sometimes that Bungie monitors either player reports, or proactively looks for suspect players based on games data when we can clearly see some players winning the majority of their matches over a period of weeks or months with 0 kills due to the other team forfeiting (assume disconnecting) prior to match completion.
