I'll make sure the security team sees your report. We don't allow accusations that include player names to be posted publicly here on the forums because it leads to witch hunting, but you can report suspected cheaters using this form.
We do issue bans and restrictions for a wide array of cheating including modification or interruption of Destiny 2 network traffic with intent to disrupt the experience of other players or to gain an advantage in the game.
For more information on what constitutes cheating and how bans and restrictions work, you can visit our Restrictions and Banning Policies article.

Don't shoot the messenger. He (and all Community Managers) may pass everything and more that they say they do along. However, they aren't in charge of Security, or Development, or Bug Fixes, etc. Literally all they can do is say they saw it and pass the torch. Which in its own way has to suck as a job. Knowing there are problems, concerns, and complaints, but not being able to say "Yeah bro, I got you in the next patch."
-
The problem is nobody believes them anymore. I see this cookie cutter post and roll my eyes. It's a joke to think this will go anywhere. Cozmo posted the reply and moved on. He didn't send this to any security team or anyone at all. It is like the boy who cried wolf. Eventually people stop believing you.
-
But again that falls to their hands being tied. They can't say "I'm on it, your problem will be solved" because they can't solve it. I know it's frustrating. Like being told by a wall that a door will show up (not a real saying...?) I'd prefer to believe that they are at least doing their part. The fixing, banning, and appeasing falls in someone else's hands.
-
They are lying to our faces. Spitting on the people who give them money. I would rather him stay quiet then lie to me
-
Are they though? I'll say it again: They Are Not Responsible For Any Changes. They might be just tossing words in in the wind. They might be passing along any and everything. One cannot prove or disprove either. It's like saying the Cashier a store ripped you off because the Store Manager set high prices. Think about your own job. How many decisions do you actually control. How many times have you had to just say "I'll pass it along" (or some facsimile) because there was nothing you could do or guarantee? There is a reason the saying "Don't shoot the messenger" is a thing. And this applies perfectly.
-
The proof is in the lack of actual bans. I have reported a whole fireteam for ddos-ing. Not one of them was banned. They continue on day after day doing the same cheat to numerous people. I'll assume atleast a handful have also reported them as well, and still they continue playing. The system is flawed. Period. (And most retailers are 3rd party. Store managers dont set the prices of anything, the suppliers do. Hence why store brand is always cheaper. Corporate sets those prices low because that is where the 100% is made).
-
Is that an out of season April fools joke?
-
He probably doesn't have a phone.
-
Disliked. Words are nothing without action. If you're serious then all of those big name cheaters better be gone tomorrow and the rest of them shortly after. Nobody here is holding their breath.
-
So you're going to take it out on the guy(s) that literally have nothing to do with any changes or actions? Sounds legit...

Edited by NE14venom: 11/6/2018 11:09:10 AMWhen and if you ban people,we would like a list of names. Otherwise it didn't happen.
-
How about you pass this along. Spawns need fixed. There's no excuse Cosmo for the amount of times I get spawned into a "no way out" situation. None. Absolutely. No. excuse.
-
I'll do that. If you have any videos as examples, shoot them over.

Edited by Fishyb: 11/6/2018 11:43:21 AMCozmo. Please pass this on to the higher ups. This is a problem and Bungie ARE responsible for security whilst playing their game I’m afraid. www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/1256-ddos-attacks-are-illegal “DDoS attacks are illegal If you conduct a DDoS attack, or make, supply or obtain stresser or booter services, you could receive a prison sentence, a fine or both. What the law says The Computer Misuse Act 1990 makes it illegal to intentionally impair the operation of a computer or prevent or hinder access to a program/data on a computer unless you are authorised to do so. This means that Distributed denial of Service (DDoS) and similar types of attacks are criminal under UK law. The Act also says it’s illegal to make, supply or obtain stresser or booter services in order to facilitate DDoS attacks. This law exists because DDoS attacks and the use of stresser or booter services can cause significant harm to organisations, businesses and individuals.” This is just the uk law on the act of an attack itself.

Cozmo, is it true bungie don't ban cheaters, ddos, account recoveries or paid carries if they advertise destiny on a stream channel? Seems alot of ppl have genuine proof but nothing is done. Any comment?
-
I'll go thru my DVR when I get home from work.
-
for example, i dont have anything; i am not a kid/youtuber/streamer; not saving videos - just trust us and thats all
-
there isn't. You're not wrong... Because he literally has nothing to do with anything other than community communication. So... there's that
-
Edited by kindaSketch: 11/6/2018 4:26:30 AMYeah, see that's exactly why I said PASS THIS ALONG. Did your comprehension skills get lost in your race to come to Ya boi's rescue? So there's that..
-
Just keep telling yourself that. Someday you'll believe it. Might want to suck on a potato to soak up some of that salt.
-
Edited by kindaSketch: 11/6/2018 5:14:32 AMYou might want to stop sucking on something else. I see you taking up for Cosmo on ALL The comments lmfao. Pathetic. I'm sure if he needs a -blam!-ing cheerleader he will ring his bell so you can come running.
-
Today in a comp game i literally spawned right next to an enemy that was also spawning in at the same time. This game is broken.
-
So, you won't ban or suspend cheaters for DoS attacks, but you'll suspend players who lost connection from matches, or... I dunno... Couldn't be matched with any opponents, so it counts as "leaving a match" 🤔 gg
-
Lol. Security team. Probably just one guy trying to get permission to ban cheaters. But keeps getting "Oh no. This won't do. This potato tells everyone how great we are. We need more potatoes like this one."
