Linear fusions should definitely be special weapons. They feel much more like Queenbreaker than Sleeper Simulant, and Queenbreaker's Bow in Destiny 1 was a special weapon. If that was a special weapon in Destiny 1, it makes sense for it to be the same in Destiny 2. Since other linear fusions are very similar, they should be in the special weapon category. Plus, I feel like part of the uniqueness of Sleeper Simulant has been ruined. It's always been thought of as the heavy linear fusion rifle, but it no longer really feels that way. It should be returned to its former glory. Obviously their damage and aim assist would have to be nerfed, but I would be fine with that if they would take special ammo.

  • Linear Fusions using Special Ammo would probably make them more viable in straight PVP, but in Gambit would make them completely overtake the meta. The only two that should remain a Heavy weapon are the exotic weapons: Sleeper Simulant and Queenbreaker. If the Queenbreaker does become a Special weapon then there's literally no point in playing Gambit without possession of the weapon. It's completely overpowered for invading in Gambit, and for that reason I'd vie for undoing the Sleeper's nerf in exchange for the Queenbreaker losing the ability to one-shot on head. The intrinsic perk on the Queenbreaker is absolutely useless if it can one-shot. That perk's whole point was to blind people, not for killing power, and because it's *intrinsic* needs to have extreme precedence.

  • As I said, they would need to be nerfed to be in the special weapon category. The Queenbreaker would not be nearly as strong as it is now to make up for the more frequent ammo drops, so it wouldn't be a huge problem in Gambit. In my opinion, Sleeper Simulant should be the only linear fusion rifle that uses heavy ammo. It's one of the things that's always been unique about the weapon, and having another heavy linear fusion rifle kind of diminishes its uniqueness.
