Compared to D1 and to pc, console recoil is ridiculous.
Hand cannons are basically 180, because the others are so unstable you need some serious thumb workout to hit the 3 precision shots.
Auto rifles and smgs are so inconsistent that you’re not fighting your enemy, you’re fighting the recoil.
This weapons don’t stand a chance against 180 hc, pulse rifles or shotguns.
Recoil must be fixed.

Edited by MISTER TORGUE: 10/18/2018 1:25:09 PMAce of spades and bygones are cancer on PC but god do I love my pin straight bygones controllers have so much aim assist that it basically lands the shot for you. There is no AA on mouse & keyboard

Some hand cannons are annoying but ars are not a problem the recoil is pretty easy to handle

Reset Recoil and aim assist values(if need be, as another reply said D2 has greater aim assist than D1) back to Destiny 1 values. The severity of recoil makes even Ace of Spades feel wild and inconsistent. Imagine when they reintroduce The Last Word. With Destiny 2 recoil that gun will be uncontrollable compared to it's D1 counterpart.

autos are fine. SMGs definitely aren't though

For most weapons you just need to feather the thumbstick opposite the recoil to compensate.

So what I’m getting from this is that the recoil is too large for console? I mean there’s a central theme with this post, but whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the cabal on Mars, so let’s get to taking out their command one by one.

I take it you don’t play siege?

The insane recoil and reticle bounce on console is used to cover up the copious amount of aim assist in Destiny. Destiny 2 has more aim assist than any shooter I have played in a very long time. If the recoil and bounce did not exist, you would actively get to see just how much the assist is actually aiming for you on most weapons. If they toned down the recoil, they would need to half the current aim assist values. This would make half the playerbase miss their shots, not be able to compete in crucible, and possibly not be able to complete most content. I definitely have advocated this change for a long time, and it would definitely help console reach closer to what I see on PC now that I have switched permanently. TL:DR Be careful what you wish for. Recoil is covering up the extremely strong aim assist in D2, and lowering the recoil would mean they would need to reduce aim assist... this would actually be bad for about half the playerbase.

I agree. Compared to d1 the recoil is a lot more

It’s pretty funny going from keyboard and mouse to controller on pc and seeing how much the recoil changes. 360 auto rifles go from an unstable mess to a laser. If I had to guess this it to counter the effects of aim assist, but who knows for sure.
