So I was "Beetled" out of a competitive match and I wasnt able to rejoin my friends match. Another 8 minutes of the match left(clash). I thought this hot fix was suppose to fix that? After I was beetled I was hit with a oops you left a match banner. How are we suppose to rejoin?
The thing that was fixed with this patch is that reconnects -cannot- happen in Gambit. They used to be able to happen and now they cannot; that's the fix.
A reconnect is when a person sees that they're having trouble contacting the servers and it goes to a black screen (not an error) and after a few moments, they respawn back onto the map and continues. This is what was disabled for Gambit; instead of reconnecting, it will boot the person to orbit to continue trying to recover the connection stability (and lead to an error if that doesn't happen easily).
A full disconnect because of an error code doesn't lead to a reconnect.
What you're describing has never been a standard thing in Destiny for Crucible. The only time you may be able to rejoin a fireteam after getting fully disconnected from the match is to try and join again and hope that another person hasn't been matchmade back into it.
That being said, if you get disconnected or leave and end up with a temp restriction for leaving, then you definitely won't be rejoining as the temp restriction normally lasts longer than the match you were part of.
