The new exotic boots make it do 3x damage to a single target, so wait till you get those.

I think you've misread something because that's not what the Geomagnetic Stabilizers do. They increase its duration when dealing damage, and it barely increases its duration at that. It's a rather lousy exotic.

No the duration allows it to go long enough to do 3x damage when firing at a single target.

With the boots, I was able to kill the boss and only had enough duration left to barely kill one more enemy. Without the boots, I knocked the boss's health down to the point there was basically no health present on the health bar. A single bullet from an auto rifle finished it off. Very little difference coming from it.
