Agreed, plus with shotguns if you go on a kill spree you have that constant supply of special ammo, try that with a sniper and you can pop off 2 good shots then have to dip and look for more ammo

Bull. Most shotgunners camp a corner until they can sprint up and get an easy kill. That works with no other weapon because you're insta-gibbed by other people almost immediately. That's not viable, that's the noob-tube of Destiny. At least you need to aim at a moving person with a sniper to get a headshot.
