Mentor me

I can't get the Claymore. But instead of blaming other people or simply giving up, I have decided to become a better player. Lol just look at my stats. I'm average at best. That's why I would like some better players to come along and show me how a great team operates. I'm not asking you to carry me to the Claymore; I'm asking someone to mentor me so that I can contribute. My Xbox gamertag is Shady Incarnate.

  • Record some of your games. Upload the best one to YouTube and put the link in here and ask for critique. Expect a ton of 'Git Gud' posts but there's some decent players out there who will offer some suggestions.

  • Have a very, very bad connection. Have thumbs for all your fingers. Have zero skill. Camp on heavy or at the back of the map with Vigilance Wing or Graviton Lance. Use hacks if possible. DDoS if possible. Hope this helps.

    • For the love of God DON'T DIE! It's fine if your not the best not everyone can be, but just try and die less. I'm fine if you only get one kill in around of survival, I'll get the other 9. If you see more than one person looking at you, run, if you get shot first in a one vs one firefight, run, just stay alive. Never poke out of leave cover when your not at full health, always wait for the health regeneration. There is nothing worse than me starting a match with a quick 5 kill streak then dying once and being kicked out of the round. On respawn don't just go running into the fray, take a moment to see if a teammate is just about to spawn, wait for them and go together. In countdown if, for example, it's a 2 on 1 and you have to defuse a lit charge, and you know your teammate is better than you, right away go for the defuse, when the ennemy pops up to kill you defusing I'll kill him and worse case, you die but I'll still have time to defuse. A sacrifice to win the round. And each round look to see who is the top person on your team, when the next round starts, follow them everywhere. Bad players just tend to wander around the map aimlessly, good players are always going somewhere specific. And guard that heavy ammo, when it doubt, play that heavy ammo area, do not let them get it, it is incredibly important.

With the amount of play styles available asking for help is going to be some trial and error but as far as competitive goes there are some general rules 1 Stick with your teammates: it’s not a fun way to play going nut to butt with your team. But shooting together with G-lance does work. 2: if you’re not good up close just play the lane shooting game, otherwise you’ll get torn up by antiope-d wielding super ninjas. Or one punched by a titan with synthoceps 3: fireteam up and get a mic: solo play is just asking to lose, use the Xbox LFG or a 3rd party one, but definitely don’t go solo. 4: use what everyone else is using: Competitive is just trials of the nine without the rewards, don’t get a wild hair and decide you want to use a random legendary ( unless it’s a good archetype or you’re really consistant/ good with it) otherwise use V-wing if you can utilize its 2 burst, crimson is your next best bet for close to medium range and G-lance is never wrong for lane shooting.

        • Mmm, I don’t play a ton of PVP, but i did have to grind to Legend for the boots and got okay at it, so: 1. Use weapons you are comfortable with, whether it’s Graviton or Antiope. Also use weapons you absolutely know can win a gunfight vs. a Graviton or Vigilance. 2. When in a gunfight, don’t stop moving. Moving left to right usually helps. 3. Stick by your team. No need to go off by yourself. If you really don’t want to be a team player that match, determine your stomping ground and an area you will hold for a good amount of the match. 4. Hide when low. Even if the person across the sight line is super weak, unless he’s peeking, it’s better to just get a kill another day. Also it decreases the chance of a random enemy teammate gunning you down anyways. 5. Learn the recoil. Some pulses require you to aim either at the chest or stomach. Most everything else you just aim at the head with, but there will be a specific amount of screenshake and recoil management required to keep your reticles on the head. If you absolutely have to hit the chest or stomach when shooting, go ahead. It’s better to get some damage off then none at all. Not sure how well this helps, but hope it assists you in some way.

          1. Never solo queue. 2. Play with the same team regularly. 3. Use the meta. 4. Come up with a game plan before every round and stick to it. Even a bad plan is better than no plan. 5. Always try and secure power in Survival. It'll often make the difference between winning and losing a match. 6. When attacking on Countdown, have everyone go to the same bomb. If there's no-one there, plant. If there are people there, rotate to the other bomb and plant there. 7. If you're defending on Countdown, either have everyone go to one bomb, or split two and two. Call out enemy positions, and regroup accordingly. 8. Never split three and one in any situation. 9. If something isn't working, change it. If you're always pushing Market on Midtown and losing every time then push Rugs instead. 10. If you're going up against a team who are better than you, stay positive. If you resign yourself to losing before you even start, then there's no chance in Hell of you winning. 11. If you're on a 2-3 losing streak, take a break and try again later. 12. Use a mic with in-ear game audio if you have one. Being able to hear people moving is really helpful with the lack of radar.

              • 1) Play your hardest each match. Recover, don’t challenge unnecessarily, and keep moving. If you stand out on a losing team, you might get recruited and vice versa. 2) Use LFG, Never Solo Queue if you don’t have to. Befriend the people you start winning with. Grow your Redrix Grind Family. 3) Don’t dig a pit. If you lose 2-3 in a row, take a break. 4) Study the maps. Learn the shooting lanes.

                    • On PS4 but just a tip: If you lose, dont get discouraged. It will make the next game seem more difficult. Stay positive and you will play better. Guaranteed. Like when I play For Honor, and a go on a win streak and then lose, i stay positive and i can keep winning. Dont be salty.

                          • 1. Don't solo queue. You put yourself at a huge disadvantage. Always play with a team....always communicate. 2. Passive play and lane/territory control are rewarded in this meta. Don't lone wolf it. 3. Avoid losing streaks. 4. Take a break if you start to tilt. Strong emotion interferes with your ability to think clearly...and will make most people play worse. 5. Record your play....and watch it. This will help your game sense....and it will help you to identify mistakes. You will die most of the time because of bad decisions.....not because someone out-shot you.

                          • This is the best case for changing comp back the way it was. Most of the comments below are snarky crap. If your on a good or “gud” team your not interested in ok or average players. Solution: Match based on wins / loses Match stack teams against other stacked teams. Or match solos with lower skill with doubles or triples with higher. This will help the lower skilled player get kills and build confidence and potential join that team. This is will make things more competitive. Stop giving stacked teams free games. Anyone who says they’ve never backed out of matchmaking when going against another stack is -blam!-ing lying. The way things are now are just -blam!-ing toxic.
