All good with the stability fixes, the game is unstable like no other... https://www.nomanssky.com/release-log/ ...but, i'm waiting for a certain fix. How's that exocraft mining laser now? it was useless last time i played.

  • As of 1.53, it is now much more powerful. Before people only used it to mine resource deposits without breaking out the terrain manipulator.

    Cool, it really was slower to mine with it than on foot, but i like to use the roamer as a wonky submarine... It's great for not drowning, though the need for kelp sac etc isn't there anymore [spoiler] pre-next, kelp sac aka rigogen or whatever, was needed to make launch-pads for your base, survival felt a lot different...[/spoiler] edit: Pre-Next survival: 200 plutonium = 100% (condensed carbon) / launch, had to think where to land, bc searching for plutonium in e.g. extreme sentinel planet was a bitch. so, i always looked those free to launch things to space things, weird "parking cones", and of course launch-pads. Nowadays it costs 50%, lot cheaper and easier to make, di-hydrogen might spawn next to your ship while you're away :) though, "the guns", especially the boltcaster sucks compared what it was capable. [spoiler] boltcaster s modules gave me 3-4% more damage, oh -blam!- off, it's shit, dismantle...[/spoiler]

  • And the S upgrades for BC give your shots ricochet, which doesnt affect their killing potential for bio terrors and the sentinels except the AT-ST ones, but makes them useless for destroying manufacturing facility doors, so put on the scatter blaster for those. The blueprint for SB that is sold is called shell greaser, and honestly, its not needed. Just slap 3 S modules on it and youre good to go.

    I just do "fly-by"es for manufactoring doors nowadays, bc it's also ridicously fun to rocket launch those sentinel dogs or whatever they're called. I do plasma launcher when normal sentinels, but when those "dogs", there's no need to take unnecessary risks. There's a bug with plasma, sometimes they ricochet from those doors, which is super-annoying, why fly-by is even more attractive option.[spoiler] died few times bc tat ricochet, total bs bc you lose everything in your inventory on survival when you die[/spoiler]

  • Plasma launchers kill dogs in 1 shot if you direct impact them, and its 2-3 'nades for the AT-ST Sentinels after you blow the armor off. Sentinel hunting is also a lucrative opportunity for farming nanites, if you find a parabola and make an arena there.

  • Probably on survival aswell, i used to kill a shit tof of sentinels pre-next, but boltcaster being useless as ir is now, i'm avoiding them like plague, how's the pulse spitter? Using that beam,blaze javelin, it's like a fusion rifle but slower and no spread, so it's not like a fusion rifle xD

  • Its more like a Simulant style fusion rifle. Pulse spitter is fun to use, and the S upgrades give it ricochet, but unlike boltcaster, it doesnt seem to negatively affect it, since it can down a manufacturing facility door. It also does have poor ammo economy, so bring lotsa ammo if you do plan on using it.
