Changes to turn Destiny from an okay game to a fantastic game

I've done a lot of bitching about this game so I thought I'd write something actually constructive, here are some ideas that I think would really increase the quality of life for the players. 1. Stikes Strikes are the bread and butter of this game, when you can't be bothered doing anything else you jump into the heroic strikes playlist, at least I used to, now heroic strikes are harder than the Nightfall and are a chore to complete. What happened to the [i]power fantasy[/i] aspect of the game?? What I prepose is [u][b]move the negative modifiers to the Nightfall[/b][/u] and [u][b]move scoring from the nightfall to heroic strikes[/b][/u]. lets face it no-one doing nightfalls cares about score and its just much more rewarding having score for kills in the Heroic Strike Playlist. Now before you start "but the challenge..." Nightfalls are where the challenge belongs and adding the negative modifiers will achieve this, then for all the real hardcore players who want a serious chalenge, [u][b]add a leaderboard for prestige nightfalls[/b][/u] showing the 12 best times for each nightfall for each handicap and when a team beats the nightfall on the highest handicap in under 10 or so minutes [u][b]add another difficulty teir, and another, and another until it really is Bungie challenging the top fireteams[/b][/u] to get the world firsts and world records of the highest difficulty. Also [u][b]add the nightfall exclusive drops to the Heroic Strikes playlist[/b][/u], it is rediculus needing to wait weeks and weeks for the loot you want only to not even be guaranteed a drop. Which brings me to my next point. [b]If Bungie, or anyone, are to take anything from this post, please let it be the next two points I'm about to make.[/b] 2. RNG [b][u]PLEASE START USING A PROGRESSION SYSTEM INSTEAD OF RNG.[/u][/b] It is so very disheartening when every EP, strike, raid, engram that doesn't yield what you're chasing is an entire waste of time. I spent an entire week farming for the Braytech Ospray with my fireteam doing over 80 nightfalls, I got 2 drops they got none, the stupid part is, I have the exact same chance of getting a third one as they do of getting their first. It needs to work on a system where every time you do anything that could yield a reward and don't recieve an item that items drop chance increases until you get it and then it drops back to the original droprate. 3. Transparancy "SUNFIRE FURNACE Greatly improves the recharge rate of your Solar abilities while Hammer of Sol is charged." "When Super energy is full, grenade and melee abilities recharge twice as fast." The first is the description of the Hallowfire Heart exotic chest in Destiny 2, the second is the description of the Simmering Flames perk from Destiny 1, That "twice as fast" is so very important when deciding what to build to use, "Greatly improves" means absolutly nothing. Same thing with armour mods and weapon stats, there are some things we, as players, need to know that we shouldn't need to spend several hours working out ourselves. So Bungie, [b][u]Please start using values and proper wording in descriptions[/u][/b] so players can make descisions on things without needing to go to reddit or watch a youtube video to find out. 4. Masterwork Catalysts Basically I will never ever see my favourite gun masterworked. By all means [b][u]increase the requirements to masterwork[/u][/b] the guns, increase the kills from 500 to 5000, 100 public events, 50 strikes, 50 raid encounters, 50 crucible wins, etc. but we shouldn't need to find catalysts, If we like to use a gun we should be able to masterwork them by using them. (MIDA is my favourite gun btw). 5. Crucuble Crucible is tricky, the reason some people hated D1 and love D2 is the exact same reason others loved D1 and hate D2. I've thought a lot about how to maximize the amount of people who can enjoy it and one option I thought of was to [b][u]make a crucible submenu for 'classic' with lower TtK, increased movment speed and somehow allowing snipers, shottys and fusion rifles in the energy slot[/u][/b], and then in the submenu have 3v3 elim and another playlist that is 5v5 with other gamemodes in it. Another thing that PvP is missing is longevity, almost all of the people I play with feel drained after just a couple of games of crucible, [b][u]make a playlist with different gamemodes where you don't need to be winning to have fun[/u][/b]. A playlist with games like Mayhem, Sparrow Racing, Survival but everyone spawns in a drake tank or with scorch cannons would seriously improve this game and I really pray that Gambit will fill this role.

  • Additionally, all of the current strikes are the same, how awesome would it be if there was a strike where everybody started with a drake tank and you used it all the way through the strike, you could even do the boss fight IN THE TANK? Or a strike where you spawn in the armoury of a fallen skiff and you get 3 infinite ammo scorch cannons? or one where you spawn into a room on the Dreadnauaght and just fight wave after wave of ads until the boss spawns? Also an options menu for the heroic strike playlist where you can 'turn off' certain strikes would be huge.
