Destiny Down Under Podcast #CommunityFocus

I am one of the many Destiny tragics who live in the land Down Under who have been along with Bungie on this ol' Destiny ride since Day 1 For nearly as long as I can remember the chaps (I use the term caps loosely to give them the appearance of civility and deceny) have been a voice...a very Australian voice...for our Destiny community in the Southern Hemisphere. The Pod is very Aussie: a bit loose and possibly alcohol fuelled, but also extremely informative (especially when Loremaster MyelinGames gets rolling) , extremely frank and honest. Also with the addition of Man-at-Arms weapon reviews it may be the funniest Destiny pod out there. Log is the consummate front man...kind of like Bruce Dickisnon from Iron Maiden, but without the stagecraft...or pipes...actually he is nothing like him. Then we have grumpy Pod Dad, Sloth. As an older gamer, with not a lot of time for rubbish, he is my low key favourite. Myelin is just flat out a Lore savant. These guys have galivinsed the community down here, and not just when things were all Gjallahorns and Icebreakers. They have stuck thick when times were rough in the game and kept the community focussed on the long game. It is a team who clearly love the game and it come across with their interviews of Slayerage, Moonvlald and Swainstache. Saturday 2pm Australian Eastern Standard Time is when many Aussie and Kiwi Guardians down tools, grab a frothy (Aussie for beer) and tune in to DDU. Couldn't recommend these guys enough for a Community Focus in the TWAB

  • I started watching the DDU after watching a Myelingames YouTube lore vid. I was hooked immediately. They are great, informative and hilarious at the same time. I have a lot of respect for all 3. I’ve watched every episode and try and catch them live whenever I can. Even had a chat with them a few times as they are extremely down to earth and often focus on questions from the group watching. They do a great job of involving there audience doesn’t matter if you’ve been there since episode 1 or 5 min into the cast for the first time. Best of all NO SPOILERS lol. Keep up the good work guys!!!

  • I agree! The DDU is a great podcast that is informative and often times hilarious! They deserve far more recognition than they get for the quality podcast that they produce. They have been on my weekly podcast list for quite some time now, and I look forward to listening to them every single week. Sometimes I even watch the live stream and then listen to it again at work the following Monday. They are very deserving of a Community Focus segment in the TWAB. Please Bungie? :)

  • YES PLEASE! These guys are already super welcoming (despite our disagreements about lemonade) and my sides ache from laughing every time. They are true pillars of the community & despite the heavy Aussie sarcasm, they are constantly pouring out positivity.

  • I've been listening to these guys for a while, seeing as DCP has gotten pretty stale since Patrick left. These guys have a more humor focused setup, which is nice, but sometimes I wish they'd chill with the in jokes and just talk about the news. Either way, I would recommend them as well. Would be nice to see them grow.

  • Would love to see DDU get a community focus! They run an awesome podcast. I always enjoy listening to it, there's been plenty of interesting discussions and it often has me in fits of laughter. They've had many wonderful guests on, and it's been great to see them give people who are not so well known the opportunity to be on a podcast as well as those who are more popular. They even have a community episode once a month where anyone in their discord can jump in and have a chat with them. Log, Sloth and Myelin are all top blokes 😁 Thank you Chookie for posting this!

  • Well said Chooky. There are not many podcasts that I listen to these days but DDU is a must-watch regardless of time restraints. I’ll always make time to fit them in. If you haven’t done so already, give yourself a treat this weekend by checking them out. Top blokes who speak the truth without sugar coating anything & who love the game.

Im from the UK and listening to this as i commute to work on a Saturday morning has been a ritual of mine for the last 6month. The shows absolutely brilliant. The banter between the lads is first class and the show never fails to be informative also. Its just a shame im usually in noddy land when its Live. Highly recommended.
