As someone who worked in a comic book store for a decade I think you are ill informed about comics and graphic novels.
That being said their writing team for the comics is a joke, but so is all other writers in this franchise .

Out of curiosity what was it like?

It was pretty cool. Used to run mtg tourneys and read all the comics you like, plus a discount was always nice. I managed to never work it got to school on Monday’s so I got to work there for that long. Eventually adulthood stole my fun

I think OP was claiming that the subject matter wasn't good enough to be made into a decent comic rather than comic can't tell good stories. The destiny comics could be told in lore tabs and nothing would be lost.

They're a bad idea, the game barely has any lore and they're already trying to tell stories through multiple avenues

The game actually has a total ton of awesome lore... ...that doesn't matter, is never used in game play, and is nearly impossible to find out. Because who cares? It's a boss with a giant gold bar hit point sponge. Or you play hot potato with a stupid glowing ball. No lore matters when that's all that matters in the game. There's no lore to teach you anything about Destiny that matters. Destiny, the jump puzzle game. Might as well throw a Mario hammer in there.
