If you join in a strike, stick with your team

If you start a strike, heroic or regular, you get matched into a team. And being a team means working together, not repeatedly trying to run past all the enemies while the other two work their way through them, and dying, leaving the other two to kill all the enemies while you wait to respawn Seriously, i've had 5 strikes today where someone kept trying the "mad dash" tactic. If you're there at the start of the strike, you shouldn't be ending it with less than 30 kills while i've got over 170 (Edit: the point i'm trying to say here is pull your weight, and work with your team. Don't be some idiot that runs off by themselves, dies without even reaching the next checkpoint, waits to revive, and then repeats that process multiple times in a single strike. It's basically the equivalent of sitting in the back doing a dance emote while the other 2 players are killing their way through

  • Or just because a modifier is going to make a specific strike challenging. How many times do you go into a strike and someone departs because it's not going to be a cake walk?

  • I get where you're coming from, but don't put this on the players. Put this on Bungie for setting up a system that encourages this behavior. Same thing for heavy in PvP, same thing for quitting matches, same thing for control points, cheating, and on and on. There is no incentive to behave in any particular way in a lot of Destiny scenarios outside of your own predetermined beliefs. Some people want to be a team player, stick together, get it done methodically and with a great deal of likelihood of success. Other people don't give a shit, it's a game and it doesn't really matter.

  • They can rush through the strike all they want just don’t expect me to revive them when they die

  • Nope. The loot system sucks and stalling the strike just to wander around to kill every little monster is not worth it for many players. If someone wants to get the strike over with as quickly as possible, I totally understand, and I will happily run past the enemies with them as well.

    • This Bungie's fault for not better designing the strikes, either force people to kill the trash mobs or just remove them so everyone can move together

    • Strikes are tedious, but I always go with whatever the other people are doing. I don't care either way, depending on the strike/modifier it's going to take way longer than it should anyway. The whole strike system just sucks and makes little sense. Was doing Pyramidion the other day and those -blam!-ing torch hammer Vex at the beginning killed us randomly twice. I was like, welp here we go this will be a slog. Then we get past that point and basically breeze through the rest, including the boss. Some of the sections are just BS and deserve to be run past IMO.

    • I dont think I actually started a single strike from the beginning yesterday. I always got thrown in the middle or right at the end anyways. But Im not the kind to run thru and avoid anything. I play Destiny to kill and blow shit up. Not to run passed everything like a pussy. But if people leave me behind I dont really gos. Im old and slow.

      • The worst was when I was the orb carrier for the last orb in savathuns song amd the other two kept running through and dying to the multi ogres. Over and over.

        • Look dude. Strikes aren't rewarding or fun. Most of them are rehashed story missions that we are all sick of seeing already. Most people are after catalysts or just simply completing the milestone. They will play however they want to play and you have 0 control over that.

          • I tend to run how others are running through the strike. Doesn’t bother me if someone moves ahead. I’ll kill adds looking for heavy and increase my super. Speed runs sometimes makes the strikes go by faster. The other day, me and 2 randoms started a strike and about 2 minutes into it, I had to take an emergency poo and left. For that, I am truly sorry.

          • If its for milestones you better damn well run ahead and pull my sorry ass to the boss. Same strikes for almost a year now, no one is going to lose a strike. Its a videogame and what videogames don't have fun ways to screw with the system. There would be something wrong if people weren't finding a way to keep themselves entertained. It takes way more skill to speed run right than it does to team shot the same enemies that you have already killed over and over again. I personally say thanks to the kids who pull me to the boss and I try to keep up, you should try it.

          • I dash through Mercury stuff in the forest because the forest sucks and it's easy to run past guys. The rest if the strikes I stick with everyone. After today's 10 straight Mercury heroics with both other players instantly dropping I am completely in favor of a 15 minute "no loot in any activity for you" style debuff for instaquitters

          • Here's how it works for me: I run past all the enemies, kill the one's I have to, watch my 2 teammates continue to die behind me as I pull them to the boss. Do you want to know when I stick with teammates? Nightfalls, that's it.

          • Well I find that most people really appreciate it when I blast through the strike for them in 5 minutes (I'm a speed runner.) I guess if someone was failing at speed running it and wasn't contributing anything it could be annoying but, if not, not sure how you could be annoyed, they just saved 10 minutes of your life. If you want to run through every strike killing every enemy that's your prerogative, if I want to run through it, that's mine.

            • Second reply to this but I like running through strikes like I'm Arnie with a death wish. Makes it fun when you don't die 😆 Can't do that in raids or anything so it's enjoyable to play like that sometimes.

I remember in D1 there were a few strikes that you could just run around on your own completing bounties, then when the other 2 killed the boss you would get credit for it, not like now where it says joining allys if your not with them

            • That would be nice but isn't likely to happen. The only thing I do is leave if someone runs ahead, dies and pulls me forward when I don't want to be pulled forward. They may want to run ahead but they aren't going to force me to play that way.

            • Only bad kids die when running past the enemies. And only people with learning difficulties try to kill every enemy.

            • Other side of the same coin, if you've got someone ahead of you that is triggering all the checkpoints, killing all the yellow bars, stepping on all the plates while you are busy shooting all the taken thrall back at the spawn, you're the prick.

            • I prefer the "mad dash" players cuz they at least stick around. It's the ones who pop in only to leave because they didn't like the strike. Then again, one can only handle Brakion so many times in one sitting.

            • There's plenty of times where I've run by enemies in strikes, when I'm with randoms, and I'll still get more kills than them. Though if it's heroic strike and the modifiers are especially bad I just laugh because I'll stay back and watch the randoms die over and over.

-blam!- that. Get through as quick as possible. No one has time to mess around shooting everything for a poxy 3 vanguard tokens.
