Its not "completely free".
Warframe has one of the most aggressive and intrusive microtransaction schemes in video-gaming.
To Digital Extreme's credit they plow a LOT of that money back into improving the game....
....BUT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE IS PAYING YOUR TAB, DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE LUNCH IS FREE.

It's completely free if you want it to be. I've only spent money on the game where I've wanted to support the developers. Everything (besides community skins) is earnable reasonably

You spent time. ..and inordinate amount of time (by design)...and that time has value. Nothing. Is. Free.
