Great feedback.
However - I disagree about bringing PvP elements into the public PvE activities.
As for an easy fix for getting rid of renown - fast travel even if it's the same location will get rid of any renown that you've accumulated.
It's quicker than having to kill yourself over and over to remove the stack.

Thanks! I understand that getting killed by other players while trying to get some tokens might get annoying. That was a rough idea, but I was thinking of something that would make us "hate" a faction, and love one. A bit like in WoW, where a lot of people love Alliance, and really hate Horde. That makes you want to represent the faction you like even more. You feel more attached to the game, imo. What would you suggest to make you care more about each Factions?
