So, some may be thinking, why the -blam!- doesn't it just destroy the planet if it and its fleet is capable of doing so? What's the meaning of destroying everything if aren't going to actually DESTROY everything? Nearly 3 actual years ago, user KAGEHOSHI posted a theory on the Final Shape that the Hive and Darkness like to preach about. https://www.bungie.net/en-US/Forums/Post/180867823?sort=0&page=0 At the end of the post, the conclusion is made that the Final Shape is an "unholy trinity" of the Darkness, a victorious race, and the reshaping of the universe to fit them. So far we have the Hive and the Worms. Two races of Darkness worshipers that will inevitably end up killing each other. Here's why. The Hive were introduced to the powers of the Deep by the Worm Gods, in exchange the Worm Gods had their children symbiotically link to the Hive. If the Worm is not fed, the Hive will die. So, when there's nothing left to kill, the Hive will starve. The Worms should be the victorious race, right? Well, the thing about the Worms and even Worm Gods is that the strongest was killed by Oryx. Given the fact we killed Oryx and Xol, the remaining 3 Worm Gods should be pretty easy. In fact, I'm sure the Hive wouldn't have second thoughts about killing the Worm Gods because the whole point of joining the Deep was out of survival. The Hive will do anything to live. However, the third race of [proper] Darkness servants has been unveiled. Also dubbed the "5th Race" or the Tetrahedral Fleet or whatever you call them until they're given a proper name. They are a race of beings that are kinda escorts for the Darkness right now. At this point in time, it's all about discerning when or where the primordial entity and this race met. I've given this race all kinds of shit and because of the OP-ness that has been given to them, I think this is our victorious race. The missing part of the trinity. So we come back to one of the original questions, why do I give the Tetrahedral Fleet the best things but then leave Earth alone? Home. First off, we need a destination to play on and a thing to fight for. Second, it's all about what I chose to be the 5th Race. If you haven't seen or heard of my theories at this point, then here it is. I believe the 5th Race are a section of humanity. You see, during the Collapse, the Awoken were created by being between the Light and Darkness. Further out, in the Outer System, there were the Jovians. The Jovians are like the Awoken, but more heavily transformed. There were billions of humans who were alive before the Collapse, and millions of people tried to escape. According to Xur, some of his cells came from Earth. Earth is still a home. So remove the thing that hurts Jovians, the Light (thanks Xur for your cryptic words), and there you go.
