Why I Think the Leviathan is a Repurposed Mining Ship

<1. While it does eat planets, it takes a long time and breaks it off piece by piece. 2. It has mechanics in place to convert planetary materials into fuel and other substances. Emphasis on other substances. 3. It has lasers and everyone knows the best mining is done with lasers. So why does it have a city on top? Well you need homes for the crew. Clearly this was all built before Calus was exiled as all the architecture isn't rugged on the outside.>

That could make sense, as I don’t see the Cabal being the most....fuel efficient race. Might as well just eat every damn thing in your path to keep the lights on. It does make you wonder, though. Why were the cabal so shortsighted as to exile their old emperor on a “self-sufficient” mining ship? Now, I do believe I have read a lore tab in the past that had something to do with Calus being highly respected by his people, but I’m not sure, as I never have played the raid, just stalked other people’s armor. Could it be out of respect, or possibly fear of having the death of their former leader on their consciousness?
Now that I think of it, it almost has to be out of respect, (cough) Mob Justice (cough)
Maybe the people are hoping that Calus will return one day, to reclaim his throne. Since we have killed Ghaul, I believe there is a new opening, after we kill all of his assistants of course.
