Probably not tbh. Unless you just want to play a heavily downgraded version of the newer souls games.

  • I mean what did you expect? It is the same game with the same old engine. They did make it very clear that it was going to have very minimal changes so as to keep the game the same (which some actually prefer over the new games).

I'm not saying they should have changed a lot but they should changed some of the issues.

  • Even on this post there are very few complaints. Those complaining are just very loud. They specifically said they were making very few changes, and it is understandable why. If they made a large number of changes they would have a another group complaining that it no longer feels like dark souls 1, they would say things like "this is not my dark souls". Everyone also had very fair warning, especially considering early copies were sent out and everyone was freely allowed to post videos, same thing with reviews. Most people you see who are mad, are those who didnt have enough intelligence to do even do a small amount of research before purchasing. Unfortunately they are stuck with that crappy original engine which is where a majority of their issues come from. Had they done a remake instead of a remaster, where in which they actually mess with and improve/replace the engine, then a lot of changes could have been made. Unfortunately the dark souls 1 engine was honestly pretty bad when it was first released, and time has not be kind. Some have complained that they didnt even fix a lot of the bugs, but many of these likely fall into one of two categories. They are either an issue deep in the engine, which like i said, it is a remaster so they arent going to play with that much. The other category is glitches that they keep in for groups like speed runners, who would be very annoyed if a lot of those bugs and glitches were done away with.
