Rant On the Topic of Fake DLC Leaks

<Now that Forsaken has been revealed and the "Summoning of the Nine" leak was proven false, like so many others before it... I'm taking the time to go on a sort of rant about these things. These fake leaks that spawn from people that are looking for a noice troll and those that believe them. Let me go back to the Warmind leaks, since those were recent and I remember each one clearly. Gods of Mars 1: For a long time Warmind was under the name "Gods of Mars". This was after a supposed screenshot from a... I think PSN store. Point is, everyone believe it until Bungie flat-out said the title. Heralds of Nezarec: The first major leak I can remember came early 2018 and was going to feature a new race, new location entirely, and about 10 campaign missions and 3 strikes. It was going to be about a crashed ship on Enceladus, a moon of Saturn, for which we've seen concept art of. A ship would have crashed into the moon and release a new enemy race led by Nezarec. The new race would've simply been called Heralds. Rasputin would respond to the invading force with an army of Frames, which would become another enemy. Ana Bray would be our resident helper and track down the source of the Dark Incursion... which would have been buildup towards D3 when the Darkness arrives. The entire area would be called the Frigid Wastes and yeah that's about all that's worth mentioning. The immediate problem with this leak was that it was the wrong location. If we had confirmation or we had no idea that Warmind would be on Mars, this would've been a solid leak and very promising. Unfortunately, it was short-lived because everyone with a brain knew the DLC would be on Mars. Gods of Mars 2: Bless the heart of those who believe this one would be a thing. This leak was about a place on Mars called the Frigid Wastes. Charlemagne (first problem) has awakened and imprisoned Rasputin. It was your job to work with Ana Bray to uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray while combating "Remnants" and freeing Rasputin. Big issue; Charlemagne is -blam!-ing dead. To be fair, so was Ana Bray, but I have a hard time believing cultists who don't even have the mental capacity to deal with their own Device, so she gets a pass. The only way Charlemagne could be alive is through the Nine. Consult the Grimoire Card and A Sudden Death's lore tab for more information. Gods of Mars 3: This was the most realistic possibility out of every single leak, even the next one. This one was about Rasputin detecting an extrasolar threat (probably the Darkness tbh) and trying to destroy the Traveler. You would work with Ana Bray to shut him down or at least contain him. The DLC would include 2 new enemy factions, the Crow Splicers and Constructs. Constructs being the Frames that murdered the Iron Lords and Crow Splicers probably just being the HoD version of Devil Splicers. Easy reskins. It was simple, perfect for reskinning and pretty promising. I believed this one... er... parts of it. I wasn't too sure about the Splicer bit. I whole-heartedly believed that Rasputin would be the bad guy. It was -blam!-ing perfect. After Warmind, now he'll do -blam!-ing nothing and get absolutely destroyed when D3 rolls around. We get to see his character wasted after what was admittedly a decent speech. The Fallen Warmind: A solid week before Warmind's title was revealed, I caught wind of this next leak being spread around. About Rasputin vanishing on Mars, preventing the rise of a corrupted Warmind, and exploring the Deep Stone Crypt. None of this came to fruition. The issue came with no enemy reveal. Also Warmind's title was revealed a week after, as mentioned earlier. Summoning of the Nine: And we return to form with Nezarec. A name mentioned in a worthless Warlock exotic being taken to seriously. This is the "leak" that inspired me to do this meaningless post. To be fair, half of it seemed sound. It had the Awoken and Fallen, with the slight potential of Fallen allies, just as many had theorized. It was going to take place in the Reef, just like it was confirmed. The issues come with the Nine bit. While having the Nine themselves playing a part in the story isn't bad on its own, the rest come from the enemies. The Nastareth. The big issue with this name is that its a reference to ONE Grimoire Card. Not to mention, the name was uttered by a Taken beast... good buddy Sylok. Then we come to their leader, Nezarec. Before we go on, may I mention that Nezarec is a name from PRE-GOLDEN AGE TEXT? That means it's older than our contact with the Traveler. There's no way in actual hell the name should have any meaning besides the ramblings of ANOTHER cult. PLEASE STOP BELIEVING HIS NAME WILL BE RELEVANT IN D2. Also 10 story missions seem short for a major expansion. Even vanilla D2 had more missions than that. Conclusions: With Forsaken now revealed and people finally believing everyone whose paid attention to the end credits scene, we've come to the final 2 releases. DLC4 and D3. Everyone with a brain knows that both of those belong to Savathun and the Darkness respectively. That being said. If you see a leak for DLC4 without the name Savathun in it, DO NOT BELIEVE IT. SERIOUSLY. If you see some stupid shit like "Nezarec's Coming" or departure of some bullshit like that, don't -blam!-ing believe it. If you even SEE the name Nezarec in a leak for DLC4, it's -blam!-ing fake. If you see the word "Nastareth" in a leak for DLC4, it's -blam!-ing fake. DLC4 is about Savathun and we're gonna go back to the moon-sized spaceship that is Oryx's Dreadnaught. Rant over.>

I was really mad at all the leaks that included the Deep Stone Crypt. It’s not a -blam!-ing physical place. Exos fight huge armies of people they knew there. Do we just stumble in there and say hello? It’s in their -blam!-ing minds! Do these people know anything about the crypt other than the name? And when certain YouTubers started calling the MULTIPLE canons around Rasputin the Deep Stone Crypt I lost all hope.
