Can We Get Dedicated Servers Already?
Look I know Bungie has their hands full with fixing this game, but dedicated servers are an absolute MUST in order for this game to continue. They got away with it in D1 because of the year it was started, but this is 2018 and dedicated servers are a norm now.
For Honor did it, they went from peer to peer to dedicated servers, so it's possible.
Am I the only one who is tired of meleeing someone and for them to have half an hour to melee me back? How about the Iron Lagfest that is Iron Banner, or competitive, or even quickplay. And lets not forget about lag switching, and DDoSing. All would be fixed with dedicated servers. Bullets that don't hit you behind walls, sniper shots that connect when they're supposed to, Melee Supers that actually work properly. How has Bungie gotten away with this for so long.
And if they really can't change it in D2 because the network engineers effed up and can't change anything without breaking the whole game, fine. But I swear to all this is good in this world, if Destiny 3 doesn't come out the gate with DEDICATED SERVERS I ain't touching it. You better start now Bungie, or you'll forever be left behind.

The spoiler below is a reply to another post in here somewhere. [spoiler][b]1. Dedicated servers are inherently more secure.[/b] Currently with Destiny's ancient P2P trash your public IP, and the public IP of all of the people in your match are visible to everyone in your match. With that information it's absolute child's play to kick people out of a match, or gather their information for more nefarious means in the future. For example........ ISPs public IP addresses are divided up by region. So it certainly won't take long for me to figure out not only what country you're in, but what city you're in. From there it's pretty easy to figure out which house is yours. Seriously, you think your ISP gives a crap about protecting your information LOL! [b]2. Dedicated Servers are more stable[/b] This everyone should know, but uhhh.... if 1 person has a high ping on a dedicated server, it's really only their experience that sucks. Developers like DICE have gone to great lengths to tweak things like hit registrations, latency compensation, etc.. specifically to punish high pingers the most. With the philosophy that other gamers shouldn't have to suffer for someone else's shit internet. [b]3.Dedicated Servers drastically reduce outlier scenarios.[/b] Things like getting shot around corners, or dying to invisible bullets are not completely eliminated, but drastically reduced. DRASTICALLY. Plus what matters the most in dedicated server layouts is your ping to the server, that's how fast your hits will register on every opponent you encounter period, because the SERVER DECIDES IF YOU HIT THEM.
