I feel like you're forgetting how much money they've actually made from Destiny, it's DLC and Eververse. They're not having money troubles nor are they going to. And as pointed out, other games do provide previous content bundles with the new content so people who may have left the game, or just never bought previous expansions/DLC can catch up and play the new stuff ASAP. Trying to get people to buy DLC that is completely redundant the second Forsaken releases is pretty scummy and doesn't even make sense, they're just splitting the already small playerbase even more. There's going to be no one left doing the DLC content they're trying to force people to buy. This means content exclusive to group activities from Warmind for example, are just going to be unobtainable soon after. They'll be no one to doing it and you can't solo it. This isn't to mention the other group activities like Heroic Strikes which get the level bumped up too, if you don't buy all the DLC AND Forsaken AND it's Annual pass, you're not going to be able to do Heroic strikes at all if they bump the light level up again.

Do you only play AAA games? Cause this is fairly uncommon, I mean look at steam games with expansions. You CAN buy all the DLC for something like Stellaris but you don't have too and that's a Paradox game, they're known for shoving DLC down your throat. It's just bad business to kick out half your population if they don't give you the price of the game twice over, in a game that NEEDS a population to be fun for the population like Destiny. This game is going to die if they keep trying to be greedy rather than actually caring about their customers. Which is obviously never going to happen as we've seen by how they never fix anything unless it encroaches on their profits. Faction rallies are still way way overly grindy for any player who has a life outside Destiny, not to mention challenges in Strikes or even the ones on the faction rally ornaments just don't work. They promised actual rewards from public events other than literally two tokens and a blue (May be a meme, but it's also true) and here we are with another DLC with exactly the same problems. Terrible rewards, low RNG drops for anything you'd actually want to use or need for quests. Everything they do is just to keep you playing for a tiny bit longer. I don't hate Destiny or Bungie, but I can see what this game could be if they toned down the greed and tried to really make something good. Like the old Bungie used to. Probably sounds a little náive but I still remember all the great stuff Bungie used to do, they had DLC even for Halo but it was reasonably priced and wasn't required to play like in Destiny.

I can't tell if you're joking or not... but Steam is basically [b][i]the[/i][/b] gaming platform on PC. Everything is on steam, save for some publishers games which have their own platforms such as Origin and Uplay from EA and Ubisoft respectively. Steam has everything on it from AAA shooters to Indie side-scrolling story based games. Not to mention a bunch of free to play stuff too, some of which are actually pretty fun and no overly pay-to-win. You should check it out if you haven't already. The fact you only play those 4 games does explain a bit though, they're all AAA games from big companies who just wanna make money... maybe except God of War as I've not looked in to that too much myself. Have a look at games made by smaller companies, they're much fairer to their customers which is hilarious considering they make less than AAA companies do already. Yet, they don't screw people over nearly as much just to make a quick buck... at least not all of them do (PUBG is a great example of a Dev that [b]is[/b] just being greedy to make money at the expense of the games content).
