Weapon Randomization and Loadout Changes: Thoughts?

With the Year 5 reveal along the horizon and Bungie's roadmap taken into consideration, I fully expect to see the two most important upcoming changes to the Destiny 2 experience: the so called "Randomization" of our weapons and the seemingly triumphant return of the old loadout system. What are everyone's thoughts or rather expectations for these changes? Do you think they will bode well for the community and the gameplay experience? How do you think the new Randomization System will prove itself superior to existing optimal static rolls we already have in both PvE and PvP? Will the loadout changes take away or add more enjoyment to the endgame experiences? Personally, I want to see random perk rolls make a return to the game in some form. I think that introducing some new perks may very well create changes for some guns to transcend their current trash static rolls and upgrade their stats to compete with leftover optimal statics which will still exist. As for the loadout changes, I never really found it to be an issue so much that it was rather problems with the mathematical balances of the PvE system. If they don't change the numbers (make us do more damage) the loadout changes may barely, if at all, remedy the lack of power fantasy this sequel lacks against it's predecessor. All opinions are welcome. Sorry for the wall of text. I hope everyone takes part in the discussion :)
