My tastes in video games in general has taught me to stand up for who I am, and not cave into peer pressure. In Assassin’s Creed, for example, I think II, IV and especially Origins are the worst in the series, while III, Revelations, and Syndicate are the best If you know the AC community, you know the general consensus is usually the opposite. It’s like that for a lot of games, such as thinking Kirby’s Dreamland 3 is the best classic Kirby, loving NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Brawl is the best Smash, etc. Being in the minority opinion a lot has helped me be more confident in my opinions.

 • And so you should. Never ever let anyone say your opinion on a videogame is wrong, it is your opinion after all not theirs. That being said you are wrong about Brawl...Melee is the best ;-p

 • Everyone I’ve heard usually says Melee.

 • I'm curious about why you dislike 2. For me it was the base level entry that enticed me into the series. Brotherhood stands as my favourite though.

 • I never said I don’t like it, I said it was the worst in the series. It’s still fun, but is simply not as good compared to the others. Plus, I really hate Ezio.

 • Ah I see. Jumped the gun a llil bit there. When people say ''It's the worst'', I tend to automatically assume that they despise it, with every ounce of their soul.

 • Oh, not at all. I’ll call Dark Souls III the worst Dark Souls in a heartbeat, for instance, but I still love the game to death. Though, I do hate Origins with every ounce of my soul, so there’s that.

 • After black flag I just couldn't take any more after that. What about origins is so bad? I'd love to hear.

 • Origins just isn’t Assassin’s Creed, it’s a generic RPG with an Assassin’s Creed skin. I tried to like the game, but it just made me sad, because the franchise I liked became.. Well, that.

 • You heard me. 2, 4, and Origins are the worst Assassin’s Creed games, while Revelations, 3, and Syndicate are the best. I mean, I literally said in the post that I disagreed with the majority..

 • Those are literally 3 of the worst 4, and by far the two worst(3 and Rev). I honestly can’t fathom how that could be your honest opinion. What is it about them that you like? Not really talking about Syndicate, it’s definitely a few tiers above the other two in terms of quality. It’s just not even close to the best imo.

 • I actually like most of the changes they made in 3. Though, noteriety was kinda broken. The only place I think it really suffered was in (non-Homestead) sidequests. Plus, Connor>Ezio. As for Revelations? It was still in the same vein of II & Brotherhood, with improvements, I think. I remember having loadsof fun. Plus, old Ezio>Young Ezio.

Plus, old Ezio>Young Ezio.
3 was held back tremendously by its setting. There were no big buildings to climb, and city scenery was pedestrian compared to prior games. The frontier gameplay wasn’t great either. Climbing trees and running through the woods didn’t fit the game well at all. Also, Connor is one of the worst protagonists in the history of games. He has absolutely no personality. He would’ve been better if he literally said nothing. 3 also featured some of the most hamfisted sequences I’ve ever experienced. The way they shoehorn Connor into famous events in US history comes off as incredibly corny and out of place. Revelations on the other hand...It feels like a game that exists to end Ezio’s story, and not because anyone actually wanted it. Like 3, it is also held back by the setting. Most people have no idea what the Ottoman Empire was, or even heard of Constantinople. Not that that automatically makes it bad, but it was bland and totally uninteresting. None of the characters were as interesting as the previous Ezio stuff. I honestly can’t remember anyone in the game other than Ezio and the young kid who later becomes Sultan. Old Ezio fits in well there, because he’s lost most of his charm. He feels like an older dude who shouldn’t be able to be doing the things he is. It doesn’t fit. Also, the bomb making was dumb. I did like the Altair stuff, but it didn’t make up for the rest of the problems.

 • Lol really? Everybody knows about the Ottoman Empire here in Europe I am sure, maybe not in the US but in Europe their existence had a big impact on how Europe looks today. And Constantinopel, ofcourse we know it, who doesn't ? The capital of the Eastern Roman Empire and now best know as Istanbul, are people really not paying attention to world history? Hell, the US is fighting in Syria and Irak, why don't they know the reasons that those countries exist in the first place (hint, it has something to do with a certain war that spanned al continents and was the biggest reason of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire).

 • Not going to speak for everybody, but that’s pretty obscure shit imo. I’ve heard of them, but I like History. The average gamer I doubt seriously has heard of any of it other than just hearing the names.

 • Connor did have personality, it just wasn’t a rogueish lady’s man. He was humble, softspoken, and quiet. I liked that about him. It was a good change from Ezio. He had some bland scenes, yes, but his personality was there. I liked the frontier setting. Climbing through the trees was fun. I will give you the major events, and worse city bits, but I’d rather have a lackluster city with good climbing controls, than a good city with worse controls. Really? People haven’t heard of the Byzantines? Huh.. Anyway, I preferred the setting, and I thought bomb making was fun. Really let you customize your playstyle. I’ll admit, I don’t remember many of the characters either, but I do remember more than the previous two games combined. I also loved the “animus” side of things. More fun than the real life segments, and not just cutscenes. Altaïr segments were definitely really good.
