Is dark souls 3 harder than bloodborne? I’m interested in getting dark souls 3 sometime but I don’t want it to feel like a downgrade from bloodborne. I guess I’d just have to try it anyway.....is dark souls 3 tougher than bloodborne ?

  • I've heard Bloodborne is easier because you get 20 healing things (idk the name of them because I've never played it).

  • they barely heal you though. They do a small portion of health and cant be upgraded, unlike the super healing Estus Flask

  • Ah, well, that's just what I've been told. Like I said, I haven't played it. I've just seen a handful of people say that it's easier but I don't know from experience.

its back and forth. Dark Souls has shields, stronger healing, better magic and tougher armor. Those to me, make Dark Souls an easier game. Bloodborne has speedy movement and ranged parrying, which makes Bloodborne an easier game. Its all opinion. I believe Bloodborne is harder in terms of genuine gameplay. Once you become a master at dodging though, you’re almost a God. Dark Souls 1&2 are harder in terms of map layout and hazards. Once you have a great shield and nice poise/good at dodging, you’re almost a God. In terms of general fun of gameplay, Bloodborne gets my blood rushing and gets my mind going with excitement, Dark Souls does too, but not nearly as much

  • Couple things I've read that say why Bloodborne is easier: - 20 blood vials (despite giving less health, you can consume them faster than estus). People say they rarely run out - You can regen your health by attacking enemies - no environmental danger, meaning you can manage running around a lot easier, only fearing enemies - boss fights are easier/slightly repetitive My take: It sounds like it really depends on play style. If you're used to tanking with a shield in Dark Souls, then you'll probably struggle with Bloodborne in the beginning until you get used to it. If you've always played a quick, dex-like character in Dark Souls, then you'll probably find Bloodborne easier.

You can regen 35% of the most recent damage taken if you swing immediately, but its a short window. I run out of blood vials often, cause it takes 4-6 to fully heal. There is barely any environmental hazards, which i actually love. I find hazards to not be that fun or creative in terms of designing the map The bosses are each very unique and not repetitive. That’s dark souls, not BB. Some are easy and some are insane. Bloodborne is known to feature the hardest boss of all souls games in it. its definitly playstyle though.

  • Huh, it's certainly interesting seeing completely opposite opinions on this. Either way, to each their own, I suppose.

Easy answer...no it is not. In fact DaS 3 is Much easier, as long as you stick trough the story, the last boss is IMO the hardest to defeat. Don't get me wrong though, it has a few hard bosses but they are all optional and not required to finish the game. In fact IMO after Orphan of Cos the Nameless King is probably the hardest boss in the franchise, but it is an optional boss so you can skip him. Edit:Keep in mind thoug that I never got around to play the DaS 3 DLC's and I hear those have some challenging fights as well.

  • Depends on the player. Bloodborne is for the very aggressive players. I found Dark Souls3 to be pretty hard for some areas and The Ringed City was mealy the hardest DLC I have ever played and hardest part of the series.

  • You'll hear different answers for this. Some people can rock Bloodborne but will have trouble in Dark Souls 3 and vice versa.

  • Bloodborne is far more accessible. If you're inclined to attack without giving much thought to it, you're going to have a difficult time. I much prefer the level design and atmosphere of DS3 over that of Bloodborne.

  • It’s different. Bloodborne’s more aggressive, while Dark Souls is slower & more strategic.

  • Is my character more of a tank in dark souls and are the bosses less aggressive than bloodborne?

  • Your character can be more of a tank if you make them one. Bosses are definitely less aggressive.

  • Bloodborne is the hardest id say, because of the fact that all dark souls have shields, which make it way easier

  • Mainly no, however it is difficult to compare since they are rather different in styles. Dark souls 3 i have actually found to be one of the easiest of the games. Bloodborne i have found to be one of the hardest mainly due to its very different style. But who knows, due to dark souls 3 being fairly different from bloodborne you may end up finding it harder.

  • One of the things I disliked with bloodborne was how glass cannon my character felt. Lot of damage but takes a bunch of damage as well, plus some of the bosses in bloodborne are really fast and do a bunch of combos which makes me mash my controller. I may be basing the difficulty of darks souls 3 purely on watching the nameless king fight only. If the bosses in dark souls 3 are slower and my character is like a tank then it’ll be easier for me

  • Then it will be easier for you more than likely. The only boss that is really one or two bosses at are fairly fast, but even they arent as combo happy as in bloodborne. Basically enemies in dark souls 3 (and really all dark souls games) are slower but hit hard. So most are not hard to dodge but the really big and slow attacks do hurt a lot. At the same time you do actually have the option of using a shield in dark souls, which makes you feel a whole lot tankier and even lets you completely block many of the mini bosses (and a fair amount of main bosses) attacks. Basically if what you want is for both you and your enemies to be slower harder hitting tanks in comparison to bloodborne, then dark souls is the games for you. Also strength builds where you hit like a truck are fantastic and very fun in my opinion in dark souls.
