Mario kart is only fun without items imo. Then it becomes a game of skill instead of an autism fest of rng

Not to me. There is nothing fun about getting hit by any type of shell. Be it red, blue, or the extremely rare instance of getting hit by a green. Also the lightning strike is autistic, especially if you’re in the middle of gliding when it hits you
