I'm wary about believing any of these leaks, however there has been a push in the merchandise recently for Pikachu and Eevee together.
I don't know if it'll be true or not but either way I just want follower pokemon again. Won't be much longer until we find out (fingers crossed, hopefully the reveal will be at E3)

I've never really cared about follower Pokemon myself :|

Nothing wrong with that, Yellow was the first Pokemon game I owned so there's just that nostalgia factor for me.

I've personally never cared for Pikachu so i passed on it. Also don't get me wrong i am ok with follower Pokemon. The only I see is if someone wants something like Wailord following them with a 3d model :|

Oh I agree, some pokemon it just doesn't make sense with, like oh look there goes a 10 year old boy casually walking along with a time controlling deity following him.

Yeah or something the size of semi trailer However i suspect in this one, it'll only be Eevee or Pickachu following the MC
