The Huckleberry Guide (the Bad Juju of SMG’s)

Huckleberry Showcase: https://youtu.be/C6PqTPcJSj8 Here is 6 minutes of pure Huckleberry footage. I show mostly how it performs in PvP, with a small snippet at the end of how it works in PvE. At the 4:45 mark I also shot at a wall to show you when the “Ride the Bull” perk procs. Extra Video: Full Rumble Gameplay with Huckleberry: https://youtu.be/BFqZs7ro25g RIDE THE BULL This is where the Huckleberry gets a statistical advantage over other SMG’s in the game. The Ride the Bull perk procs TWICE as you hold down the trigger (you will also notice your sights turn slightly green.) Each time it procs, your rate of fire increases slightly, which technically reduces the time to kill your opponent. Should you pre-fire this weapon before you engage your opponent? NO. The mag size is only 30. I’ve tried it, and I usually end up with a shortage of bullets to finish off my opponent. RAMPAGE This is the perk that will really help you get multi kills. Your magazine gets a small re-fill every time you get a kill, which has great synergy with the Rampage perk. It has helped me a lot (especially in the Rumble playlist where you’re constantly being engaged by opponents.) If you’re looking to make montage worthy plays, this is the gun for you. Keep in mind, the Rampage perk will go away if you swap weapons. MASTERWORK (AMBITIOUS ASSASSIN) Unfortunately I didn’t get the catalyst for this yet, but apparently you get an additional 3 bullets when you reload after a kill. Technically this helps the ride the Bull perk, because you can hold down the trigger a bit longer while your rate of fire increases. It definitely would’ve been nice if the perk granted more than 3 bullets after reload. HIGHLIGHT'S PRIORITY TARGETS This perk needs a bit more testing, but I noticed my opponents would get highlighted in red when I had this weapon equipped. This part requires more testing though. IS THIS WEAPON GOOD OR NOT? I think it depends which platform you play on. I’ve seen most console (or controller) players complain that it’s hard to wield and doesn’t offer anything “exotic.” It seems that the recoil is a bit too aggressive for a controller to be able to tame it. Perhaps it requires a bit of practice and a counterbalance mod? On mouse and keyboard, the recoil is a lot easier to control, which allows you to take advantage of the Ride the Bull perk. A kinetic recoil mod definitely helps, but is not needed. I prefer having a kinetic reload gauntlet. I like to think of this gun as an Antiope-D with phenomenal handling, slightly better ttk due to Ride the Bull, and rampage to go hunt for your next kill. The fact that the gun reloads for you doesn’t require to waste time before finding your next opponent. A high recovery build can work well with this gun. I personally like the gun. It has great range, and rampage helps me a ton in the Rumble playlist. I was messing around with a Rampage build (Huckleberry, Last Perdition, Perfect Paradox) and it worked extremely well. The gun could definitely use some love in the mag size department, or perhaps fully reload the mag after a kill instead of just a partial reload. For PvE, the gun is a monster. Just watch the last minute of my footage and you’ll see why. Cheers.
