Ignore the haters and the trolls. There is nothing that can ever be done with this game that will make them happy.

  • Except, you know, listen to feedback that constructively criticizes mechanics and gameplay decisions that took the fun out for the vast majority of people...and also to have listened the first 3 times when they were caught red handed when it came to XP for bright engrams, the bait and switch eververse controversy when Osiris launched (ie short on story/mission/level content but super heavy on new eververse crap), and the loot-box style issue that Eververse turned into (ie gambling in the form of making it a P2W game by putting up a barrier to stuff like fireteam medallions unless you pony up), aaaaand being more transparent about what they're doing instead of saying "we're listening" and then going on to not address the controversies. Yeah, nothing they do will make people happy unless they deal with all that.

Continuing to beat that dead horse at this point isn’t feedback. I broke up with a long term girlfriend back in grad school who used to do that. She used to drag out everything she felt I’d done wrong over the last six months and throw it in my face whenever there was an argument. Hated it then. Still have no patience for it today. If you feel it’s that bad, leave. If you don’t feel it’s that bad stop complaining and let them fix it. If you tell someone your opinion once, it’s feedback. Tell them a second time, you’re trying to control them. Tell them any more than that you’re being a nag.

  • Too bad. Someone asked, it's worth talking about. It's not a dead horse if Bungie keeps putting their head in the sand and ignoring it. Just like if you don't fix something and a spouse mentions it, and you keep not fixing it. If it's something basic like a toilet, and you just won't fix the toilet but then you won't allow anyone else to fix the toilet either...maybe you should get off your ass and fix the damn thing instead of whining about how you're getting nagged.

  • It’s a dead horse. And you are cynically ignoring the time and expense(that Bungie isn’t passing along the cost of to us) that they are putting into fixing the game. You can stay and nag. Just expect to get called on it.

  • Actually it's not time and expense that Bungie put in, it's time and expense Activision wasted on Bungie. You're quite correct about time and expense though given that Bungie's Tiger engine is among the worst to work with in the modern AAA space. What you're also neglecting is the initial starting position of D2. You have D1 with Rise of Iron as a starting position as far as the quality-of-life regressions. The only QoL improvement was being able to navigate directly into another zone without first having to go to orbit. The numerous regressions heavily outweigh the small convenience improvement. So when you say "fixing" most of the community sees "bring it back up to the quality D1 enjoyed....even though they've had years of experience and hindsight when it comes to design to benefit from" So you're also correct, I am cynical, but it's merited. You call it nag, and idgaf what you call it but I'll call you one thing: sycophant. Enjoy your table scraps.

Thank you for demonstrating my point to the OP. By the way, in 50 years I’ve never met a cynic who wasn’t convinced that their cynicism wasn’t merited. I’ve also never met a cynic who was only cynical about one thing.

  • Hang on to that story. Like all cynics you can’t tell the difference between healthy skepticism and toxic cynicism. Oh well.
