I'm not defending them but they did say that it was a quick fix to try and help a bit. It's not a permanent fix but a quick one...
It's nice they are attempting to make something change faster than to do nothing at all. It may not have worked but it is something.

Show that they can be about action at a much faster rate. Fix things as they go forward. It is a sign of two way conversation between developers and consumers. From a business standpoint this is just fine e considering the nature of the product.
