Respectfully, you didn't play for random rolls. You played because of the possibility of PROGRESSION. Because of a deep perk pool AND random rolls, duplicate loot items always offered you the possibility of getting a better performing, or a more powerful version of a weapon you already had. Loot drops were still meaningful no matter how many Clever Dragons you had gotten during Iron BAnner.....or how many Imago Loops you'd gotten drop from that Black Garden strike. The problem with Destiny 2 is that fixed rolls and a perk pool that is now an inch deep...and DESTROYED that possibility for progression. Luke Smith admitted to it right away. 'What were they going to do to make the TENTH copy of an gun remain relevant?" Answer: Nothing. They've done NOTHING....and that's why this game still as a severe loot problem, and a broken end-game. Once you have a weapon....you have it...and there is nothing you can do to it, to make it any more powerful than it is. Masterworks weapons are only really relevant to the PVE player....and once you get copys of all the game's most powerful weapons in a MW version....you're done there too. There is literally no loot-based. or power-progression based reason to continue to play. You've hit a wall that Bungie STRUCTURED into the game, and wrong-headedly thought that throwing cosmetics at us would distract us from that wall. They didn't.
