What you’ve done here, is tell Bungie to do what the Divisionn has perfected in its game. I’ve said this since D1. Straight RNG without a single chance to manipulate it is Overly frustrating for those that want to stay competitive, but don’t have the same time as the “lifers”. With No ability to change random rolls, the frustration lies in “no light at the end of the tunnel”. In other words, I could play Destiny for 50 hours and maybe never get the roll I want. But with a recalibration ability I still have to grind, but I know there is an end to the madness sooner rather than later. Going to static rolls was too far to one side of the spectrum in a Loot game. It was stupid. Bungie has to go back to random rolls, but bring a monitory cost to allowing the user to re-roll (or what the Division calls “recalibrate”) a talent... or “perk” on the weapon. What the Division does is allow one talent to be rolled and once it is done it locks the other talents out so they can’t be changed. The only talent that can be rerolled is that same slot again... and each time you do roll it, it costs more materials. It’s the perfect system honestly for both grinding and eventually getting what you want. This adds the grind that so many want back in the game, but it also takes out the frustration of never getting that god roll because a perk or two is off. In the Division there is a small grind for guns and armor, but a bigger grind for materials so you can recalibrate said items. It’s the perfect middle ground and Bungie needs to wake up and get their heads outta their butts and implement it. And again, I’ve said this since D1. Even before the division. But Bungie didn’t listen, hopefully they listen now

  • True...but The Division had so many layers of RNG that it was impossible to complete any sort of build unless they either allowed you to re-roll gear...... ...or absolutely buried you in mountain of it to offset the SEVEN (IIRC) layers of RNG. Destiny 1 didn't have that many layers of RNG. Just obnoxiously low drop rates. Destiny 2 had been dumbed down to only ONE layer of RNG.....do you get the item or not. Correction...TWO layers. Is it Masterworks or not. That's it.
