Daybreak Wars Ch. 2 pt. 3: The Queen of Crucible

A titaness, also hoping to get the now elusive special ammo, ran up and threw a powerful cross into Aurora’s stomach. The huntress hunched over and held her ribs as she tried to regain her breath. She quickly shrugged off the pain, with the aid of Oliver, then raised her fists up too. The titaness kicked away the Telesto laying in the sand, then prepared for the sparring match.     Aurora ran forward, ducking under a close hook, then punched the titaness many times in the helmet, which barely phased her. The titaness caught both the huntress’ arms at the elbow, then headbutted her back. Aurora regained her balance, then studied the monster of a woman marching toward her. After planning her attack with lightning speed, Aurora spun in the air and used the momentum to kick the titaness’ knee sideways, causing her to collapse.     The titaness struggled to stand back up, but did so anyways, then threw a salvo of jabs at the huntress, but Aurora was able to deflect each of them. Then, Aurora drop-kicked the titaness down a ramp. The huntress got up and dusted off her armor, then walked up to the titaness--who now had a broken knee and dislocated shoulder--and put her out of her misery by shooting her once in the head. Aurora elegantly twirled the smoking Hawkmoon on her finger while walking away, then holstered it again before grabbing her Telesto.     Many minutes passed, resulting in Aurora having many kills and a handful of revives, but now the game was about to get even more fun; Lord Shaxx spawned a heavy ammo crate in the center of the map. Aurora climbed to a high crevice and watched as Guardians frantically swarmed the crate like gnats, then for all of them to be wiped out by the titan that decimated the area with an arc explosion caused by a Fist of Havoc. From her vantage, Aurora threw three shurikens; one at the titan, and one for two other Guardians preparing to ambush him. Once the three Guardians were close enough together, the throwing stars channeled electricity and killed two of them; the titan’s armor was able to conduct most of the energy away from the wearer.     Aurora, still glowing a violent blue from her arc super, approached the titan crawling toward the crate, then snatched up the purple cartridge. Oliver transmuted the box into a shard of Willbreaker and Hadium flakes for the huntress’ sword. She waved the sword mere centimeters away from the titan’s visor, then crouched down beside him. “You haven't really impressed me,” she mocked.     “Piss off,” the titan replied weakly. Aurora stood back up and raised her sword high above her head, then executed the titan. Right afterwards, a high-flying warlock cast down a massive orb of void Light, but Aurora spun around and deflected the Nova bomb back towards him with the broadside of her sword.     Aurora enthusiastically chased a frightened hunter into the Cabal base. Before the hunter could escape through another gate, the queen of Crucible grappled his leg, then began pulling him back into the base. He desperately clawed the ground, trying to crawl away, but Aurora channeled arc energy down the cable and stunned him. The hunter hopped up, pulled out a large knife and swiped at her leg, but missed.     “You're just like every other guy; going straight for the legs,” Aurora said before breaking his wrist, stealing the knife, and stabbing it through the hunter’s visor. For good measure, Aurora double jumped into the air, then kicked the knife further in. The Guardian, who was already dead, was now hung to the wall like a painting at an art gallery.     The Guardian's ghost appeared and stared with horror at the blood dripping from both sides of the helmet. With its pale eye, it turned toward Aurora, who condescendingly blew him a kiss.     With two minutes left on the clock, Aurora found herself the only Guardian still on the map; everyone else left, filled with rage. “You win by default!” Shaxx declared, still trying to make it sound like a feat.     “I would've won regardless,” Aurora said to herself. “Let's go home, Oliver.” The huntress got comfortable on her ship’s couch and watched as her medals were displayed on her holotablet while Oliver piloted them back to Earth.
