With the buffs to weapons, should I consider using sidearms? I feel like with the great auto's, lack of range, and huge pve maps, this game is catered to only mid/long range weapons.

I still feel like sidearms are not all that compelling for PvE content. For PvP they still melt people in close quarters. Truthfully for both now I like SMGs. Antiope-D is a lot better than I expected for PvE post patch. Decent range, hits harder than a 600 rpm auto, and kill clip makes it insane. It’s only held back by slow reload speed and a shallow mag size. Still a lot better than I expected.

I tried using one the other day and got shat on. Might just be my play style tho, I noticed I was suffering from range fall off so maybe they just aren't suited for my kind of play.

Do bears poop in the woods?

I've been maining sidearms for a while, and let me tell you, Sidearms are in a good place right now. My personal favorites are the 300 rpms for their balance, though the 260s are still solid. I favor the Vertical Orbit QSm and the Consensus for their large magazines/range, but you may find yourself leaning on Last Hope/Last Dance. If you want to improve you probably shouldn't do that, but do what you must.

Last Hope can still put down anyone rushing you with a shot gun or clean up in close quarters. I’d say they are feasible.
