Destiny as is.

I understand this game is not in the state it should be in. I believe this is because of trying to streamline the game for more casual players and make more money. They forgot about the core audience and went way off their established formula. I can comprehend why they would try something new, be it for monetary reasons or gameplay reasons. What I don't understand is why keep pushing when the fans are pushing back? One of the things that angers me is the dishonesty. One can excuse missteps in game development. You can forgive the stubbornness to keep going in the direction they were going despite opposing feedback, to an extent. What you can't forgive is the underhanded tactics such as the XP debacle. Then you throw in the lack of an explanation and dodging of questioning or giving non answers (I'm looking at you, grimoire being anecdotal/opinions and not history). I would hope Bungus would realize their mistakes and not repeat them, just be honest. To give some background of where I'm coming from, I've played D1 vanilla. I stopped playing because it bored me. I was disillusioned by the lack of content and story. There was enough story to get you started but it never went anywhere. Then, when the dlc started dropping, I got locked out. I can't even equip legendaries! (Unless I'm missing something, it says I need to be max level but I can't reach max because of lack of dlc which is bull). I have read people saying they're going to give Bungus a second chance. Well, if you purchased D1 then D2 is their second or third or fourth chance with all of the mistakes they made during D1. This isn't their first foray into game development. This isn't a budding gaming studio. D2 is not their first destiny game. I can only speculate on the information I've been given and since Bungus doesn't like to share, I can only assume the worst. Why is that, you ask? Look at their track record. I'm honestly surprised they didn't get the same backlash they got this time, last time they did the base game content dlc lock outs. I don't think Bungus deserves the benefit of the doubt on anything they do. They lost that during D1. They should be honest and straightforward from here on out. Any criticism they get is warranted and should take as much of it as they can make use of to advance this game to where it should've been from launch. Moving forward, be you a "fanboy" or not, we should stop the unbridled hate and just offer constructive criticism. I know it's fun to bash on this game into hyperbolic dust. I believe it was deserved. The time for that is over now, I'm sure Bungus got the message and everyone is well aware of their slights against their fans. One thing I do have to point out though is that there is absolutely no need for personal attacks. Talk crap all you want about Bungus, talk crap about how you hate how certain people have handled their positions and directions they've taken. Just don't attack them personally or comment on their private life matters. Now is the time to rebuild and move forward or give up and move on. There are so many things I want from this game. It's not boring to say the least but it can be so much more. I understand why they took random rolls away. It lets the more casual crowd play as they please without having to sink too much time in. The problem with that is, they didn't implement something to replace that time sink that some people enjoy. I think a compromise would've been best. I want random rolls to come back but not as they were. Have all weapons drop as they do now but let us infuse duplicates to grant us the ability to reroll a perk. I think that would give us the best of both worlds. Another obvious one is the skill tree. Give us options. Give us freedom. Don't railroad us into two options you deemed best. It's too simple, simple as that. Armor, oh boy. I understand the need to lock armor with certain stats so each class has to lean more into a certain ability (Hunter-mobility, Titan-resilience, etc.) but I think a better way around that would be to give each class a base stat. For example, without armor boosts, a hunter has 3 mobility points. So no matter the configuration of her armor, she will have three points in mobility. I believe that would negate the need for armor having a certain specialty, such as survivalist, heavy, etc. That would give us more freedom in wearing what we want instead of what we have to. If that is too much, at least let us pick what we want our armor to be when we masterwork it. I hate masterworking a mobility armor into heavy back and forth until finally rolling into recovery. It shouldn't take me 5 rolls! There's so much more I could say about this game but then it would turn into a dissertation. Maybe it already has. To conclude my ramblings, I would say keep hating on this game if you want. Just make sure when you're vocal it's mostly constructive. There's nothing wrong with you not enjoying this game as it is, just as some people enjoying it as is. I fall into the former and believe some of us have gotten used to the mediocrity of current gaming to know any better and know we deserve better. I'll keep pointing that out without raining on other's parade. As for you guys who find nothing wrong with what Bungus has done, don't settle and keep expecting better. It's there, all you have to do is ask for it. For the love of Jebus, please stop preordering. We deserve part of the blame when we purchase a game and then complain about it. Wait a week, read reviews, do your homework and vote with your wallet. Don't fall for the hype and make purchases based on promises. I won't completely write out D3 but I sure as hell am going to wait a couple of months before buying. I hope you do the same so we don't find ourselves in the position we are in now. Enjoy yourselves, Wolf <3
