I'm happy to suspend my disbelief (because videogame) however I must say I've thought this too. Quite amazing that the warminds could do the same network across the solar system. I also thought it odd in D1 that, Golden Age notwithstanding, the Cosmodrome had very normal looking broken down cars in it. Shouldn't they have been hover cars or something? I mean, we have sparrows so... Anyone else ever find that weird?

  • The people down there didn’t have light and the fallen killed that area for a long time we did

  • I'm not sure I follow your point, are you suggesting the Fallen scavenged all the cool golden age tech while we were dead? Because I could buy into that, even opens up some good story possibilities to go and find a treasure hoard somewhere.... Heroic/exotic lost sectors could be ace.

  • Pretty much you know by the time they got to earth we were still trying to perfect the light possibly

  • I think it's more of that we don't entirely know when the golden age took place nor how advanced humans became, though it's obvious we became extremely advanced.

  • Yep. The cars in the asset store were cheaper than selfmade anti-grav cars with fusion core technology. Bungie also has a creativity problem. The rockets also look like something Eleon Musk would come up with and not real SciFi colonization ships. Perry Rhodan ships look much more advanved than these Energia/Space Shuttle ripoffs. The Traveller looks slick though.

  • Lol true. I mean, a couple of the ships look cool (Ikora's, Osiris's) but still very derivative. Thanks for the tip btw - I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to sci-fi novels and had not heard of Perry Rhodan. That's some cool-looking stuff. Destiny has an awesome backstory IMO, I particularly like the Fallen and Vex and how they interact with the Traveller/light history but Bungie don't do a great job of telling those stories. D2 had a good cinematic campaign but, come on, we've all lost our powers and have to get them back? Seriously clichéd, hope Bungie realise they only get to play that story card one time 🙄
