  • Now that i think about it. Bloodborne is closer to nioh than nioh is to dark souls. So you should be good.

I actually haven't played Nioh myself, but if you're good with timing attacks, dodging and stamina management, you'll kill it.

  • Solid. Nioh is a souls styled game with just a faster paced combat so I'm sure I'll pick up bloodbourne quickly. Any general tips?

If you're more used to a bit faster paced combat, that's perfect. My general tips for a first timer are: - Early on, mobs are a death wish. Whittle them down and lure them with stones. -Don't worry too much about blood echoes (currency/exp) until you meet the first boss. You need insight (2nd number in upper right HUD... symbol looks like an eye) to level up at Hunter's Dream... you'll know it when you see it. - Insight is also spent when trying to summon other players for help. You can't summon others in a place you've already beaten the boss, but you can be summoned to other worlds. Beware while summoning or trying to invade. If a bell ringer appears, you become open to invasion as well. - If you play online, notes left by other players will be helpful... most of the time. Beware trolls. -Learn the weapon you choose and experiment a bit with others you find so you have that secondary for heavier enemies. -Learn timing for using the firearm. Hitting an enemy just before their attack swings forward or during so staggers them, leaving then open to a visceral (R1 while in front of/behind them). A fully charged heavy attack (R2) from behind also staggers them. -Blood stones are the materials for improving your weapons. Choose a couple and stick with powering those up. - Explore your menus and use the 2 hot item sections. One is the bottom row when options is pressed (usable with square button) the other by pressing the right half of the touch pad. (Only usable when selecting from that section. - The beginning is your playground. Do not fear death and get to know the world. - The lore is mostly in item descriptions. Hopefully I covered most of the basics.
