They don't to necessarily get rid of that concept, it just can't be the exact same thing every time. For instance, that's why I've never hated giant servitors in this area. Don't have a magical 'push back button' but rather actually suck your life away. Same concept but different way of doing it. And it makes sense because they can't touch the ground (unlike hydras... because Vex magic). Besides, it would be kind of cool to see a big captain or Kell grab you by neck and blast you away with a shotgun or run you through with a sword then throw you down. The enemies just need some personality besides looks. They all pretty much do the same thing... it's boring. For Vex I always thought they should use teleporting more. For instance, if you get too close to a Vex boss they simply always teleport you away. Instantly. It just makes sense and gives the Vex a little bit of personality. Obviously, you can vary it a bit. Not all Vex need to do that (for instance, giant Gatelords) but it makes perfect sense on less mobile stages of bossfights or different bosses altogether (like hydras). Cabal it kind of makes sense, but I would like to see where a cabal boss actually pulls you in so you can't escape. They kinda of slow you down, then stomp on you, but you don't ragdoll. It's just a near death experience (if at full health, of course) to make them dangerous. The Cabal are bigger than you, why should they be afraid of your tiny frame? The Hive could do anything. It's why the wizards are so different than anything else in the game because they actually debuff, slow, and attack your sight if you get too close. It's unique, different, and again does not rely on simply pushing you away physically but rather making you get out of the cloud of death.

 • I'd like to see a hive knight boss that that grabs you and starts draining your light until you're either dead , or you break free by staggering him.

 • Exactly. Variety. That's why I don't dislike that invisible bastard with the shotgun on the Exodus Crash strike (except for the cheesy invulnerability periods). He's unique and his combat style is a mix of a shotgun captain and a very aggressive sword captain. But he too would be a problem if all the ground-stomping bosses fought like him instead. Variety, ffs.

 • I also love the idea of Captains, Knights, and Minotaurs having a rare kill move if you get caught.

 • I like your idea about Vex teleporting you away.

 • Yes, yes, NO MORE TELEPORTING!, yes, and yes. And FFS put a cooldown on Captains'/Minotaurs' teleport ability. Where did the Fallen even get that tech? I used to hate Minotaurs more, since they don't take damage while blink-charging straight at you (love wasting Sword/Shotgun ammo on an Axis Minotaur charging the PE spire while also apparently shifting through multiple timelines?), but some Captains in D2 spam that ability non-stop - there's one in particular on Nessus, in the SE corner of the main drop zone, across from Failsafe, who I'm pretty sure has been running over to the Lake of Echoes and taking lessons from the Vex, that dude bounces around so much even Riskrunner can't keep up. An alternative for Vex - Radiolarian. If you get too close, they splash some of their insidey bits on the ground, doing the same thing Radiolarian fluid always does. Cabal could just go airborn (like Ghaul, or every Centurion) - can't use a sword on something 30 feet in the air. (Or just let us use swords against Cabal - I have a feeling they would respect the show of strength.)

 • Totally agree- those minotaurs used to piss me off when they were in sync with my firing pattern. But the D2 captains with their teleporting? Take down his shield a little and he teleports. Constantly and frequently- little scaredy cats (or something stronger and more profane).

 • Definitely agree on the cooldown on the minotaurs. I remember in D1 they would be synced with my fusion rifle and teleport exactly when the shot was fired, even had a few dodge a whole clip.

 • Literally happened to me this weekend - my Warlock usually runs fusions, had that happen during a PE so I swapped to a sword, found an ammo pack, and beat that **** to death while laughing maybe a little too much. I remember dropping into the final room in the Nexus strike and running my Special empty trying to hit the few Minotaurs lurking around that room...even had it happen once during a Nightfall, a teammate and I were both synced with their teleports and kept Fusioning the air, even sent a couple of Truth rounds straight into a wall. It's funny now, but we were not laughing at the time.

 • I sometimes half charge and feint them and get them on the next shot, so satisfying.
