Deny means to ignore a fact. So if I denied that apples were red, I’d be saying that apples aren’t red. When you say “don’t deny” you’re sayiny “don’t ignore this fact”. By extension, saying “don’t deny apples are red” could be paraphrased to “don’t ignore the fact that apples are red”, in the same way saying “deny apples are red” is saying “ignore the fact that apples are red”. So following the phrase “don’t deny” you always put the true fact, not the opposite.
