Monster Hunter is definitely a good game, and I fully believe it's better in every way in terms of a sequel, but after only 78 straight hours of play, I'm almost at the end and I'll have nothing else to do.
Note that 30% of my time was spent grinding MOTHER-blam!-ING ODOGARON FOR HIS GEM, but the rest was spent enjoying the game with my friends and I'm glad I bought it.
The thing is though...is that there's nothing to do once you beat it (which I haven't yet because of that red POS) and I'm starting to feel the game slowing down, and I'll probably stop playing it altogether once I've done everything I want in it, and although Destiny 2 is the exact same way...its still something I would kind of play every now and then where as monster hunter...probably not.
Monster Hunter is a better game in every way for what it's trying to be, but it doesn't have those...things to do in Destiny when you are bored.
Stupid as that may sound.
Ive been putting off looking for nergigante to grind ODOGARON and man is it annoying, but I want my quilt damnit!

There's lots to do in end game, fighting tempered monsters, optimizing ur gear with gems. If MHW's end game have nothing to do .... then what about destiny? there's literally nothing to do after 30 hrs in D2. (since u said u don't want to collect all the gear)

Literally the ENTIRE POINT OF THE GAME IS TO FARM FOR ALL THE SETS AND WEAPONS. There is absolutely 0 chance that you have all the sets or weapons. I bet you don’t even have any rarity 8 gear

I don't have to grind the game for all the sets, getting what I want and finishing the game is more than enough for me. It's already a pain in the ass for me to get a full set of ODOGARON alpha, I'm not about to put equal effort into something that's far more annoying. Also, I'm getting to 8 star rarity, I just need to stop wasting my time grinding odogaron and I need to progress further on. I've been at the "track nergigante in the elders recess" for like 2 days because the drops for that stupid gem are not in my favor. Finally got one today from an investigation, so I'm going to start progressing again soon.

But...odogaron's beautiful ;-; I finally finished my set like 20 mins ago...now all I need is some piece of Teostra to upgrade my hates undying flame.

If you don’t like the grind I’d say the game isn’t for you. The game isn’t made to just be done once you beat the story. Although you can do what you please I’m just saying the game doesn’t sound like it’s for you if you don’t want to grind. Getting an odogaron gem is easy. Just do an investigation that has gold rewards. Bet you get it within 2 runs.

I've done 8 investigations that had double gold rewards...I finally got one today :/ It's not that I don't want to grind, there's just no reason for me to grind out obsolete armor or to try and get weapons I won't even use. I spent 5 hours yesterday grinding odogaron non stop and got trash. As we are speaking I didn't get a gem, again.

That sucks. And my whole thing is as a completionist, I want everything regardless of if I’ll use it or not. That’s just me though.

I know there's quite a bit. Kirin and that weird blue dragon thing. I don't know their names, but I know there aren't as many that could ever amount to the great jagras

You still have couple days of game time in this game. Nergigante, Kirin, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Vaal Hazak, and Xeno'jiva. All of which are not fun. Well some are easy few are hard. Kushala is a ass especially for me since I use insect glaive.

Teostra was rather easy for me. My friend thinks vaal hazak is awesome, I haven't fought Kirin, but I know what he does. I really only have like 4 elder dragons left to kill.

Hazak is my personal favorite out of the 3. Teostra was meh for me Hazak was easy, but kushala with his wind was annoying, took me 45 mins to kill him.

Teostra was just annoying, especially when his aoe went through shields XD Just run for dear life or do the dive jump to dodge it. I have a question though...since teostra is basically a manticore made of firey energy...why can the lava eruptions hurt him?

No clue I never had it happen with me when I fought him. I'll probably see it happen few times because I gotta farm him for a weapon. He wasn't too bad for me I fought him once. Kushala I fought multiple times all because I kept running out of time!! Hazak armor looks niceeee though, it's just a shame nergigante has some of the better looking stats/perks yet his armor looks absolutely stupid. At least the female version.
