Mobility does not affect sprint speed, just walking speed.
Were you using high jump or triple jump at least on your Hunter?
His titan may have been using the high lift jump option. What armor set was he using? Did he have a mobility set on with any mobility mods? Was he using the Lion Rampant exotic boots?
There's so many variables that could be at play but base jump to base jump comparison, Hunters do indeed jump higher.

There's one lost sector on Nessus, close to the Exodus Black. You can jump up to the platform with a titan or warlock, but I have yet to be able to make that distance with my hunter, no matter what gear I'm wearing. I sorely miss the bones of eao.
