Making content is hard... the problem is Bungie puts too much effort into building a beautiful looking sandbox, without filling it with something worthwhile. Most likely because it takes so long to create the beautiful scenery. Personally I would be fine if they did one of two options from now on.
1) They focused on updating places they have created as time goes on to fill it with more intriguing activities and events. If they expand up adding additional difficulties with new phases for the existing raids and bosses.
2) The quality of the visuals take a hit so they can create more content.

Not trying to be rude here and I know Bungie has called it a Sandbox a time or two as well. But this game is far too linear to be considered a Sandbox at all. GTA, Saints Row, Fallout, Horizon Zero Dawn...etc those are Sandbox games. This is more akin to Prey.

they used to have amazing visuals and still crammed their games with content ..Ive been buying and playing their games on day one without a fail since Halo 2 (*didn't have an xbox before that and had to play on the store console at pc world.) point stands that they used to completely cram their game spaces with a billion things to see and do. believe me when i say everything I've typed here breaks my heart :'(

Well you need to understand Halo never got "expansions" the only dlc's they ever produced were multiplayer maps and firefight. The diffrence in Destiny is that MMO part they decided to fiddle with. That requires sandboxes to be full, deep systems in place, complex AIs. It takes alot of time to create these things, which is why you don't see MMOs creating completely new spaces of content except for once a year or once every two years. Yet they update the current spaces and reuse play spaces to update what is already there in game, thus evolving the world. Bungie doesn't understand this idea and instead have the idea of "we need AAA areas" for our players to explore. They need to hire people who understand MMOs, or talk with Blizzard for advice.

Edited by Eddhoot: 1/4/2018 1:53:31 PMyeah that's understood, but was even the base game on the same scale? putting forge aside I don't think I could say it is even though destiny 1,2 have larger spaces they still don't provide anywhere near the same level of replayability or depth that the halo games offered. Also I need to state so you don't get me wrong I love Bungie/Destiny and wouldn't have bothered saying anything if I didn't want things getting better, but it's a tall order is all.

also just want to say any developer that tells me that making content is too hard just needs a new job because that's literally exactly what they're paid for... the alternative was telling Activision that they'd push microtransactions if they got off their back about the development rate of dlc's
also just want to say any developer that tells me that making content is too hard just needs a new job because that's literally exactly what they're paid for.
This. I wish I could tell my boss that my job was "too hard" and have them be completely fine with me doing whatever I wanted to do and keep me on the payroll. :))

This was honestly a management issue. It seems now Bungie is realizing how to fix it... by hiring more people. You can find on reddit so far 3 different postings on job listings by Bungie. One for Head of Writing (Yeah needed), one for gear (needed), and one for activities (REALLY needed)

Don't forget the one for MTX's that either they have already filled or removed the posting for because people seen it and were pissed lol!
