[SPOILERS] The Humor COMPLETELY Ruined The Last Jedi

You have been warned. At the beginning, they had the scene set up for an massive, intense battle between the First Order and their Star Destroyers vs. The Resistance, but the First Order is unable to kill one little X-Wing? Also, when Poe pretends he isn't talking to the commander of the of the Star Destroyer really botched all the tension they had created. Apparently they can make a weapon that can blow up a planet (how original) but they can't shoot down one X-Wing with 3 Star Destroyers? The First Order is supposed to be bada**, but they just look like a bunch of clowns. Also, when Luke and Leia meet, the first thing Leia says is, "I know what you're going to say, I changed my hair." That kind of humor made it seem more like Guardians of the Galaxy. I watch Star Wars for unprecedented skirmishes and good music, not for lousy humor. The sarcastic humor though, was on point and kept it from being a dark movie, which is okay by me. For instance, when Luke says "See you around kid," after he bambozles Kylo was a nice touch, same for whenever a character made a witty remark. Don't even ask me about Princess Leia in space, I don't think I need to elaborate on this. However, I do have to give them credit for a cool plot, and I look forward to seeing how the Resistance wins with one ship and 20 people. The soundtrack was pretty good, even they did only play one song the entire time, save for Kylo's entrance. Just a warning, DO NOT watch this movie if you hate the way the French Horn sounds, although I don't know how you could hate that.

  • My biggest qualm was too many sub plots. They could have ditched that whole casino scene in favor of fleshing out Snoke or the Knights of Ren but no, easier to just write them out and forget about it.

    • It's a movie about letting go of the past made for an audience who can't let go of the past. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A little long, but other than that I can't really complain.

      • I think they could have toned down the humor but I laughed each time.

      • In my opinion the movies gross molestation of Luke’s character is what killed it for me.

        • That little x wing was being flown by the best resistance pilot and from the looks of it was using an engine that allowed it to go faster than the average x wing. Also, yes they did have three Star destroyers but Star destroyers are best used against other cruiser class ships, it will be hard to shoot down a small and insanely fast ship, especially when that ship is taking out the Star destroyers guns, another is that the other star destroyer didn't have much of a shot cause if they did shoot they probably would have hit that fortress class destroyer

        • As for your point in the very beginning, Po was able to take out the turrets because he was too small. They literally say that in the movie. Same goes for ANH but I don't see anybody complaining about that.

I liked it better than TFA, but not Rogue One. I would have liked more longer action scenes. It felt like whenever there was one it was over quick.

          • I feel the same way, would've been a lot better without the out of place humor.
