There's no grind. Grinding for tokens to get the same gun over and over, and then dismantle these items to then cash into the gunsmith, to then get another thing you already have to turn back into gunsmith materials. Static rolls are killing the games replayability and longevity. Exotics are underwhelming, however slightly getting better and only two exotics are actually worth having. Mod system is bang average and could be so much better which I think D2 has to work on if they want the success of Destiny 1 if they're not going to introduce random rolls again.

  • Not to mention that all the grinding done before the update was a total waste of time. I can't delete my 300 junk rewards fast enough.

  • Yeah I had a lot of outdated stuff in my vault I got rid of. Part and partial of the game having content updates though, still will eventually go outdated but can be brought up to new with infusing.

Slowly but surely everyone will see that Static rolls killed Destiny 2 Ive said it since like week 2-3 once I got most of the legendaries and then started getting duplicates after duplicates with the same rolls. All of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks how negatively it would affect the game to take godrolls away Destiny 1 was addicting because of the loot. The grind for godrolls so you could show off was something that kept people going. Kept people grinding In Destiny 1 you felt like you could improve your build if you got a godroll. In Destiny 2 I havent felt like ive upgraded my guardian since like week 3. Once you got nameless midnight, MIDA, last hope, Uriels, etc thats basically it.

  • RNGesus blessing "skill" upon some portion of the playerbase with a weapon that you have a small chance of personally getting isn't the answer either. But a robust modding system could be. Get your base weapon. Grind for mods to improve it. Real improvements like Firefly, Tracking, Wolfpack rounds, 2x extra ammo capacity, 2x damage multiplier. have at least half a dozen mod slots. And disable the weapon back to it's base stats in competitive Crucible for "balance" or just play Crucible with a limited set of fixed perk weapons that are separately balanced. To be fair in D1 once you got Fatebringer, Gjallerhorn and Blackhammer the only thing that made you go to other weapons was those being nerfed or left behind in power level (or niche situations like burns) so I don't really buy the argument than more different weapons will help since most in D1 were just "collect them all" trophies that didn't displace a handful of known best in class weapon+perk combinations all of which were actually fixed perk weapons.

  • Static rolls make the game boring and adds no replayability to any of the modes. Literally nothing to play for once you're max power level and have the guns / armour you've been looking for. Totally - the game needs grinding for god roll weapons back. However I think Bungie are too lazy to introduce rolls again because of the amount of work they had to take nerfing stuff due to the constant flow of complaining. That's true because after all, this game is a looter shooter but there's no loot to shoot for? The grind for rolls is what kept players playing between content droughts. I really don't understand how Bungie don't understand this. Destiny 1 had so much you could do with your character in terms of weapons, different armour stats and trying to achieve tier 11 armour (intellect; discipline and strength). Same boat for me though with they weapons, minus Last Hope as I hate using sidearms lol!

  • Don’t you mean tier 12 armour build? Tier 11 was easy

Haha it was only meant in jest. It got bloody confusing messing with all the stats D1! There was so much stuff compared to D2, it’s sad when you think through all that’s been removed or put behind bright engrams. I’m going to play the D1 story again I think. Don’t have to create a new character like in D2 because the missions were always available. That’s another D2 let down (even though the campaign was terrible). I put over 45 days of actual play time in on Destiny 1! On one of my two characters. I can’t play D2 already after only a couple months playing occasionally.

  • Ahh I see! I was genuinely like "was it tier 12 that was top tier!?" Lol. I think in terms of gameplay D2 has more content at this stage than what D1 had, however D1 had more replay value and reasons to do activities, whereas D2, once all your milestones are done you've got nothing to do afterwards. That for me isn't what a MMO is about. You should because D1 was such a great game compared to D2! Destiny 1 story was awful and for me, didn't make much sense! Where is The Stranger!! I can't remember how many days I had played but I racked up over 2500+ hours on Destiny 1. I went off D2 for a while after there was nothing to achieve but came back once Curse of Osiris was released and looking to get top power level and a few Masterworks weapons, however I don't think that'll be enough to keep me playing like I played D1.

I just put Destiny 1 on again 😁 and from the moment the Bungie intro starts up it feels magical with that tinkly “select” sound effect *chills* And that amazing music! sucks you in and makes it feel so much more... special. Although the music in D2 is still great it just doesn’t give you that warm feeling D1 did, and still does to this day. And then it goes on to lack everywhere else to rub it in. So many amazing memories in Destiny, shattered by the disaster that is Destiny 2.

Yeah Destiny 1 may have lacked in it's story flow, and answers, but that might be part of its intrigue. It definitely had more allure and wonder about it that's for sure.It had a deep atmosphere. Where as D2, although much bigger story wise, is totally shallow and not at all thought provoking. Its like Destiny "Easy mode" not Destiny "2" !! And yes they've taken away it's MMO side loads. It's lost all its character and is now just a marketing vessel for micro transaction. Drip feeding us with "new" stuff to keep us coming back be it occasionally. Such a shame. Imagine what it could have been if it had kept expanding Destiny 1, like originally planned. It would have been epic!

And ppl said that grind for God roll -or favorite set of perks on gun/armour - was a waste of time, smh I will say what I have said from beginning of D2 Most veterans won't stay and casuals won't keep game alive for long, even with "flow of content" -which is better timed compared to D1- I'm getting impression that Bungie went quantity over quality and sooner or later many of those new wave players will understand why game was received the way it was. Cheers!

  • That's it - veterans are playing other games at the minute because Destiny 2 is stale. There's more content than what was released with Destiny 1, but the difference with D1 is that you had a reason to replay the game content, you don't in D2. The game's light will fade and they'll be no ghosts around to resurrect the game if Bungie don't change the way the game is.
